1.Introduction

The oblique-mounted trigger radar is developed for

the application needs of entrance and exit
management in parking lots and underground
garages. It can detect whether there are typical targets
such as cars and pedestrians in the entrance and exit
areas in various complex environments, thereby
guiding the camera system to complete functions such
as license plate recognition of incoming vehicles;
ITS-TX3 radar adopts a highly integrated solution, with
the
characteristics of small size, high precision, simple
debugging and installation, and high stability.

The barrier gate arm opener radar adopts a highly

integrated RF chip SoC
solution, which has the characteristics of small size, low
cost, all-day and all-weather operation, high detection
sensitivity, high accuracy, simple debugging and
installation, and stable and reliable.

The radar operates at a frequency of 79GHz and uses

a linear frequency modulation continuous waveform.
The available bandwidth is up to 3.3GHz, and the
distance resolution can reach 4cm. The millimeter
wave antenna adopts a multi-transmit and
multi-receive mode, which has a high angular
resolution and angle measurement accuracy. Through
the joint optimization design of software and
hardware, this product can accurately identify and

distinguish targets such as people and vehicles in the
parking lot entry and exit area, and guide the camera
system to perform license plate recognition.

3.Features
The appearance of the radar is shown in Figure 1. Its main
features are:
. LED indicator:
There are two LED indicators on the front of the sensor. The
red one is the power light, which stays on after the power is
turned on; the green one is the status light, which turns on
when a target is detected in the area and turns off when the
target disappears;
. Detection area configuration:
The default sensing area of the sensor is 3 meters forward, and
different detection areas can be set through the mobile phone
app or computer debugging software;
. Configuration parameter saving:
Can automatically save the detection area and other
configurations, and use the most recently saved configuration
parameters after power failure and restart;

. Firmware upgrade:
No need to disassemble and install, upgrade the firmware
online through 485/Bluetooth interface, and restart the sensor
after the upgrade is completed to take effect;

. Stable performance:
The sensor operation is not affected by external environment
such as light, dust, rain and snow.

4.Installation Instructions

This gate arm opener radar needs to be installed on

the barrier gate box or stand pole (as shown in Figure
2). The installation
steps are as follows:

Figure 2. Schematic diagram of radar installation location

6
The trigger radar is installed on the side of the barrier
gate or on the stand pole, and the radar beam is
directed to the best recognition area for the camera to
take pictures.

Trigger radar installation steps:

1. Radar installation position
The radar is 0.65-0.75m from the ground; the front of
the radar is consistent with the camera recognition
area, and ensure that there are no obstacles in the
radar detection area. If the green light flashes or is
always on, fine-tune the installation height and find a
position where there is no detection target and the
green light is off as the installation hole position;
2. Radar detection range setting
The maximum radar trigger distance is set to 6m. The
trigger area can be set according to the actual
environment. It is recommended to cover the optimal
recognition area. The horizontal width detection is
recommended to be 0.5m narrower than the road
width.

The red wire "12V" is connected to the positive output
terminal of the 12 V power supply;
▲ The black wire "GND" is connected to the negative output
terminal of the 12 V power supply

Barrier Gate lever control signal

▲ The green and blue wires are normally open signals of the
relay, connecting the ground sensor coil terminal and the
common terminal (not distinguishing between positive and
negative) of the barrier gate control box.
