2. Brief Description of the Course

A survey of the basic theories and practices of Industrial/Organizational psychology


including selection testing, job analysis, employment motivation, performance
appraisal, job satisfaction, leadership and group processes within organizations.
Recently, the Industrial and Organizational Psychology has been identified as the
fastest growing profession (53% growth rate) until 2022.
This course is designed to provide students with concepts, research tools and
techniques, experiential exercises so that they are able to organizations, its peoples
and their psychology, attitudes and behaviors. Organizational psychologists help
institutions to hire, support, manage, develop employees and align their efforts with
business needs and goals.
This course will provide a scientist-practitioner view of the discipline. Through the
lectures and class discussions, students will learn the scientific basis of human
behavior at work and how they relate to HR processes.
