A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

Good afternoon, everyone. Good afternoon, Teacher.

Welcome to art class! Let’s settle in and get ready to create

something beautiful.

To start, let’s sing a little song about our art tools. It's a familiar
tune, but with new words. Let's listen carefully and sing along
softly:

Twinkle, twinkle, little brush,

Painting colors, making a hush.
Red and yellow, blue and green,
A peaceful art scene.

Twinkle, twinkle, little brush,

Painting colors, making a hush.

Fantastic! Now, let's take a virtual gallery walk! We have some

amazing artwork displayed on the board. As you look at each
piece, I want you to think about: What colors do you see? What
shapes or patterns are used? How does the artwork make
you feel? Write down some words or phrases that capture your
impressions. We'll discuss what you've noticed shortly.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

What were your impressions of the artwork we just viewed? It’s very artistic!
What did you notice about the colors, shapes, and overall style? The colors are very vibrant and the art is aesthetically
pleasing. I want one in our house.

Excellent observations! Based on what you've shared, what style Painting?

or type of art do you think these pieces represent?

The dynamic patterns and unexpected color combinations you

noticed are very similar to the effects we can achieve through a
special art technique using marbles. Today, we'll learn about
marbles and how they can help us create beautiful, unique
artwork.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson

This rock is called a Marble. Have you seen rocks like this? Yes, I've seen some by the roadside. People were
collecting them with a machine.
That’s right! Marble is often found in mountain ranges. It is
extracted from mountains through a process called quarrying,
which involves drilling, blasting, water jets, and wedging.
In the Philippines, the province of Bulacan is the biggest marble
producer.

However, the province of Romblon is called by many as the

“Marble Capital of the Philippines” because of its famous marble
deposits. This province has high-quality marble noted for its
band of colors. The colors ranges from black to white, as well as
shades of red, pink, and green. Romblon is also a home to
world-class artisans.

Do you think artisans can make different products from marble?

What products could they create? Accessories?
Many of these artisans make products out of marble. Some
include furniture, novelty items, and construction materials.

Sculptors commonly used marble in their works. This stone is

also used in architecture. The colorful and spotted patterns of
marble make it a preferred decorative material.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1

Marble is an inspiration not only to sculptors and architects, but

also to printmakers. A technique in paper or fabric is called
marbling. It is the process of creating a design or pattern similar
to that of the marble.

The following are examples of works created using the marbling

technique. The work on the left is a decorated endpaper from a
book in Scotland. The other is a marbled bac cover of a book
bound in Germany.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

The art pieces you saw during our gallery walk were all created
using a technique called marbling. It's a beautiful and Yes, Teacher!
fascinating art form, isn't it?

Now, are you ready to learn how to create your own marbling Yes!
