SRC WebsiteDevelopmentProject
Methodology:
The development of the SRC website followed an agile methodology, allowing for iterative development
and continuous feedback from students. Regular meetings were held with the SRC members to gather
their input and ensure that the website met their requirements. The development team utilized modern
web development technologies and frameworks to ensure a responsive, user-friendly, and visually
appealing website.
Requirement Analysis:
The initial phase of the project involved gathering requirements from the SRC executives and other
students. The key requirements identified included a user-friendly interface, a secure sign-up system for
new SRC members, online payment of SRC dues, a news and events section, a platform for student
feedback and suggestions, and integration with social media platforms. Additionally, the website needed
to be easily maintainable and updatable by non-technical users.
Design Phases:
Following the requirement analysis, the design phase commenced with the creation of wireframes and
mockups to visualize the layout and functionality of the website. The design team focused on creating a
modern and visually appealing interface that would resonate with the student body. Emphasis was placed
on usability and accessibility to ensure that all students could easily navigate the website and access its
features.
Development Phases:
The development of the SRC website involved front-end and back-end development to bring the design
concepts to life. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were used for front-end development, while a combination
of PHP and MySQL was utilized for back-end development. The website was designed to be responsive,
ensuring seamless access across various devices including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
Challenges:
Throughout the development process, several challenges were encountered, including integrating the
secure login system with the existing student database, ensuring compatibility with various web browsers,
and optimizing performance for high traffic scenarios. Additionally, accommodating diverse requirements
from different SRC members posed a challenge in terms of prioritization and feature implementation.
Recommendations:
Based on our experience during this project, we recommend establishing a clear communication channel
with all stakeholders from the outset to ensure that their requirements are accurately captured and
prioritized. Additionally, regular testing and feedback sessions should be conducted to identify and
address any issues early in the development process. Furthermore, ongoing maintenance and support
should be considered to keep the website up-to-date and secure.
Conclusion:
The development of the SRC website has been a collaborative effort aimed at creating a platform that
enhances communication and engagement within the student body. By following a structured
methodology, addressing key requirements, and overcoming challenges, we have successfully delivered a
website that meets the needs of the SRC members and provides a valuable resource for the entire student
community. We are confident that the SRC website will serve as an effective tool for fostering student
involvement and facilitating communication between students and the council.
