Course objective: The main objective of the course is to teach the students simulation in general and
make them use it by teaching them to use the Arena simulation software in real application areas.
Course contents: Introduction to simulation; General principles and fundamental simulation
concepts; Input modeling; Random number and random variate generator; Monte Carlo
simulation examples; Simulation examples: dynamic simulation examples; Discrete
simulation examples; Discrete-event simulation in Arena; Validation and verification; Output
Analyses (terminating and steady-state systems); Comparison of alternative systems.
