INTRODUCTION

The human body relies on multiple organ systems working together to maintain

homeostasis.

Three essential systems-excretory, digestive, and circulatory-play a crucial role in

removing waste,

processing nutrients, and transporting substances throughout the body.

EXCRETORY SYSTEM

The excretory system eliminates metabolic waste, toxins, and excess water from the

body.

Main components:

- **Kidneys**: Filter waste and regulate water balance.

- **Ureters**: Carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

- **Urinary Bladder**: Temporarily stores urine.

- **Urethra**: Eliminates urine from the body.

**Urine Formation:**

1. **Glomerular Filtration**: Blood is filtered in the nephron.

2. **Tubular Reabsorption**: Essential nutrients are reabsorbed.

3. **Tubular Secretion**: Remaining waste is excreted as urine.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

The digestive system processes food into nutrients that the body can absorb.

Major organs:

- **Mouth**: Initial breakdown of food by saliva.

- **Esophagus**: Transports food to the stomach.

- **Stomach**: Secretes enzymes and acids for digestion.

- **Small Intestine**: Main site for nutrient absorption.

- **Large Intestine**: Absorbs water and forms feces.

- **Anus**: Eliminates waste from the body.

**Process of Digestion:**

1. **Ingestion**: Intake of food.

2. **Digestion**: Breakdown of food.

3. **Absorption**: Nutrients enter the bloodstream.

4. **Assimilation**: Cells use nutrients for energy.

5. **Egestion**: Removal of undigested waste.

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

The circulatory system transports oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste.

**Components:**

- **Heart**: Pumps blood throughout the body.

- **Blood Vessels**: Arteries, Veins, Capillaries.

- **Blood**: Plasma, Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets.

**Blood Circulation:**

- **Pulmonary Circulation**: Blood from the heart to the lungs and back.

- **Systemic Circulation**: Blood from the heart to body tissues.

CONCLUSION

The excretory, digestive, and circulatory systems work together to maintain health.

Proper functioning of these systems is essential for survival.
