Chapter One: Introduction to engineering profession
Academic rules and regulations
General the academic rules and regulations of the faculty can be found in the section of the
Faculty of Engineering in the University Catalogue. A complete set of all faculty rules and
regulations affecting students is also posted on a special.

Credits

Students must carry load of 17-21 credits per semester to be considered full time. Students can
normally register for minimum 17 credits per semesters and up to 8 credits for winter courses.
For taking more credits, it is required the approval of the academic adviser and department chair,
credit sheets are available in the department.

Withdraw from courses

Students may withdraw from course of 17-21 credits, not later than two weeks from the
beginning of the semester. A student cannot withdraw, or be withdrawn, from a course after the
announced deadline unless approved by the department. Students cannot withdraw, or be forced
to withdraw, from a course at any time if this results in the student being registered for less than
21 credits without the prior approval of the department.

Incomplete grade

Students who received an incomplete grade for a course must petition the department within two
weeks from the date of the scheduled final exam for permission to complete the course.
Coursework must be completed within two months of the start of the next regular semester.

Students who miss an announced examination or quiz must present valid excuse. Should there be
a question about the validity of any excuse presented by the matter should be referred to the
appropriate faculty committee. Absence from a final exam requires the students to submit a
petition with valid excuse to the department before allowed to take a make exam.

 Examinees are not permitted to read the examination question before the head proctor
announces the start of the examination or to continue writing after the head proctor has
announced the end of the examination.
