Don't Wait, Do It Now!

Emma had a big science project to finish. She had two weeks, but instead of starting right away,
she kept saying, "I'll do it later." She played, watched cartoons, and told herself there was still
plenty of time. But waiting too long can cause problems!

Many people procrastinate because they feel lazy, think the task is too hard, or prefer to do
something fun instead. Emma didn’t realize that delaying her work would only make things harder.
When she finally sat down to do her project, she had only one day left! She felt stressed and
rushed. She had to stay up late, making her tired the next day. Her project wasn’t as good as it
could have been if she had started earlier.

After that experience, Emma learned that planning ahead makes everything easier. She decided to
start early, work a little each day, and use a timer to stay focused. Taking short breaks helped, but
she made sure not to get too distracted. These small changes made a big difference!

Looking back, Emma remembered how worried she had felt when she left everything for the last
minute. She promised herself that next time, she would start her work earlier so she wouldn’t feel
rushed or stressed. She realized that when we do things right away, we feel happy and relaxed. We
finish on time, do a better job, and still have time to play.

So, the next time there’s something important to do, don’t wait—just start! Like Emma, you’ll feel
much better when the work is done.
