I. OBJECTIVES
A. Learning competency: The learners are able to compare and contrast the
characteristics of different types of soil.
B. Learning Outcome: Identify the different types of soil
C. Learning Objective: At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
 Identify what makes up soil
 Compare and contrast the characteristics of different types of soil.
 Create their own observation about the characteristics of different types of
soil.
 State ways on how to care for the soil.

C. Discussing Uses of Soil and care for the soil

new
concepts Soil is an important natural resource
and on earth. It is used by living things in
practicing order to survive and live. Most plants
new skills need soil in order to grow. Many
#2 plants anchor themselves on soil
using their roots. At the same time,
the roots of plants help hold soil
together.Many animals live in or
under the soil. This is where they
feed, reproduce, and hide from
predators. Earth worm,
centipede,etc.
 Can you think of other animals
that live underground?

Clay soil can be used for pottery and

making bricks. Sandy soil can be
used for construction. People also
build houses on soil

The teacher will show a short video

clip about soil erosion. After that the
following questions were asked:
Soil erosion happens
What is soil erosion? when the top layer of
the soil is removed.

What are the causes of soil erosion? Rain or strong winds

What are some ways soil erosion and Planting trees, throw
pollution can be prevented? litter in proper trash
etc.

D. Developing The student will identify what type of

similarities and differences.

organic matter,air and water
