help me to complete these questions and your answer have to strictly

follow format of IELTS Speaking part 2. Remember that you have to put
at least one idiom and lots of collocation as well as phrasal verb in your
answer that you will give me. Here is the topic:

YOUR HOME

1. What kind of house or flat do you live in?

I live in a cozy house on the outskirts of Bien Hoa city. It's not too large,
but it’s just the right size for me and my family to enjoy our private
space. The building is modern, and I have a beautiful view of the park
from my living room. It's perfect for me because it’s a quiet place where
I can unwind after a long day. I must say, it's a home sweet home
whenever I’ve spent long days to stay outside and come back to my
paradise!

2. What do you like about the rooms in your home?

There are lots of notable points about the rooms in my house and the first
thing just spring in my mind is the spacious living room. As it has large
windows, which let in a lot of natural light, making it feel warm and
inviting. I also like the fact that it's an open-plan space, which helps me
feel relaxed and gives a sense of freedom. The kitchen is well-equipped,
so I can whip up some delicious / crumptious meals in no time, and the
bedroom is a real sanctuary (nơi chú ẩn) where I can kick back and
recharge my batteries.

· Spacious living room: Phòng khách rộng rãi

· Open-plan space: Không gian mở
· Whip up some delicious meals: Nấu những bữa ăn ngon (hành động
nấu nướng nhanh chóng và dễ dàng)
· Kick back: Thư giãn, nghỉ ngơi
· Recharge my batteries: Nạp lại năng lượng, nghỉ ngơi để lấy lại sức

3. How is your home decorated?

My home is adorned in a minimalist style with a focus on neutral colors
like white, grey, and beige. I like to keep things simple but elegant.
There’s a bit of art made by my sister on the walls, which adds character
to the rooms, and some potted plants around the place to bring in a touch
of nature. I believe in the saying “less is more,” so the overall vibe is
peaceful and uncluttered. It really feels like a place where I can relax
and recharge my batteries.

· Touch of nature: Một chút thiên nhiên (dùng để chỉ những yếu tố thiên
nhiên, như cây cối, hoa lá, được thêm vào trong trang trí)
· Less is more: Càng ít càng tốt (nghĩa là sự tối giản thường tạo ra vẻ
đẹp thanh thoát và dễ chịu hơn)
· Relax: Thư giãn
· Recharge my batteries: Nạp lại năng lượng, nghỉ ngơi để lấy lại sức

4. What kind of house or flat would you like to have in the future?
In the future, I would love to have a house with a garden, ideally in the
suburbs. It would be a detached house with plenty of room for family
and friends to visit. I’m a big fan of natural light, so I’d love to equipt
huge windows that bring the outdoors in. I imagine having a cozy
reading nook by the window and a spacious kitchen where I can cook
up a storm. It’s always been my dream to have a home that combines
comfort and style.

· Cozy reading nook: Góc đọc sách ấm cúng

· Spacious kitchen: Nhà bếp rộng rãi
· Cook up a storm: Nấu nướng một cách nhiệt tình, nấu rất nhiều món
ăn ngon (thường là nấu ăn với sự vui vẻ và hứng thú)

5. Do you like the walls in your home to be light or dark? Why?

I personally prefer light-colored walls in my home. Light shades like

cream or pastel tones make the space feel more open and airy, which is
important to me (quan trọng đối với tôi), especially in smaller rooms.
They also create a calm, peaceful atmosphere (không khí bình yên, thư
thái) and are easier to match with different types of furniture or decor.
Dark walls, on the other hand, can sometimes make a room feel smaller
or more closed off (khép kín), so I tend to steer clear of (tránh xa) them,
although I think they can look good in certain spaces.

6. What's the area like where you grew up?

I grew up in a small town surrounded by nature. It was a peaceful, quiet

place (nơi yên tĩnh) with lots of green space, parks, and a few lakes
nearby. The town had a close-knit community (cộng đồng gắn bó),
where everyone knew each other, and it was a very safe place to grow up.
Although it wasn’t a hustle and bustle city, there were always events and
festivals that brought people together (kết nối mọi người). The
atmosphere was relaxed, and I really appreciated the balance of having a
tranquil environment while still being close enough (gần) to bigger
cities for occasional visits.

7. Is there anything you don't like about your hometown?

One thing I don’t particularly like about my hometown is the lack of

public transport. While it’s a small town and most things are within
walking distance, if you need to get anywhere outside of the town, it can
be a bit difficult without a car. This can be a bit inconvenient, especially
for young people or those without access to private vehicles. When it
comes to (khi nói đến) transportation, having a car is pretty much a must.
Other than that, I really enjoy the calm pace of life and the natural beauty
surrounding the area.

FRIEND AND FAMILY

1. Do you often spend time with friends?

Yes, I try to spend time with my friends as much as possible. We often

hang out (tụ tập) during the weekends, whether it's grabbing coffee,
watching a movie, or just catching up (tán gẫu) on each other's lives.
Spending time with friends is a great way to blow off steam (xả stress)
after a long week, and it always leaves me feeling more recharged (nạp
lại năng lượng).

2. Did you meet most of your friends through school or work?

I met most of my friends through school. We shared similar classes and

often teamed up (hợp tác) for group projects. It's always easier to make
friends when you’re working together on assignments or just spending a
lot of time in class. As we bonded (gắn kết) over shared experiences, our
friendship grew stronger.

3. Do you and your friends have similar hobbies and interests?

Yes, we do share a lot of similar hobbies and interests. For example, most
of us are into sports, especially badminton and hiking. We also enjoy
geeking out (hứng thú) over movies and TV shows. Our common
interests bring us closer (gắn kết chúng tôi lại với nhau), which makes
spending time together more enjoyable.

4. Do you spend more of your free time with friends or with family?
I tend to spend more of my free time with my family. We have regular
family gatherings and enjoy spending time together, whether it’s having
a meal (ăn chung) or just chilling (thư giãn) at home. Family is
important to me, and I like to make the most of (tận dụng tối đa) the
time we have together, especially since everyone has busy schedules.

5. Would you rather spend time with friends or family? Why?

It’s a tough choice, but I’d say I’d rather spend time with family. While
friends are great to have fun with, family provides a different kind of
support and connection. We share deeper bonds and can lean on (dựa
vào) each other during tough times. Plus, I value (trân trọng) the time I
spend with them since it’s not always easy to get everyone together due
to everyone’s busy lives.

TRAVEL AND GOING ABROAD

1. Why are you planning to spend a period of time abroad?

I’m planning to spend some time abroad to experience a different culture

and broaden my horizons. I believe it’s important to step out of my
comfort zone (ra khỏi vùng an toàn) and challenge myself. By living in
an overseas country, I can not only learn new skills (học những kỹ năng
mới) but also immerse myself (đắm chìm) in a completely new
environment, which can be life-changing.

2. How long do you plan to be abroad?

I plan to be abroad for about six months. I think that’s enough time to get
a good sense of (cảm nhận rõ) the culture and lifestyle, while also
having the opportunity to travel around and see different parts of the
country. Six months feels like a nice balance between having time to
explore and not being away for too long (không đi quá lâu).

3. How have your family and friends supported you in this?

My family and friends have been incredibly supportive. They’ve

encouraged me to go for it and even helped me figure out (tìm ra) the
logistics, like how to manage living expenses and find accommodation.
My parents have also backed me up (ủng hộ tôi) emotionally, reassuring
me that this experience will be valuable for my personal growth. It feels
great to know that I have their support as I embark on this adventure.

4. What problems do you think you may have abroad?

I think one of the biggest challenges I might face is the language barrier.
Although I’ve been practicing the language, I may still run into (gặp
phải) some difficulties in day-to-day conversations. Another issue could
be feeling homesick at times, especially when I miss my family and
friends. But I think with time, I’ll adapt and get used to (quen với) the
new environment.

5. Where would you like to go for your next vacation?

For my next vacation, I’d love to visit Japan. I’ve always wanted to
experience its unique blend of tradition and modernity. From the bustling
streets of Tokyo to the peaceful temples in Kyoto, Japan offers such a
variety of experiences (nhiều trải nghiệm) that I’d love to explore. Plus,
I’m really interested in trying authentic Japanese food and learning about
their culture.

SCHOOL AND CHILDHOOD

1. At what time did you used to get up to go to school?

I used to get up at around 6:30 AM to go to school. It was quite early, and

I always felt like I could use a few more hours of sleep (cần thêm một
vài giờ ngủ) to be fully rested. But over time, I got used to it, and it
became part of my routine. I had to drag myself out of bed (kéo mình ra
khỏi giường) some mornings, but I managed.

2. How did you feel about getting up early as a child?

As a child, I didn’t enjoy getting up early at all. I would grumble (càu

nhàu) and drag my feet (lề mề) because I wanted to stay in bed longer. I
was definitely not a morning person (không phải người dễ dậy sớm),
and I found it difficult to start my day so early. It was tough to get out of
bed when it was still dark outside.

3. What did you particularly dislike about your school days?

One thing I particularly disliked about my school days was the long
hours (thời gian dài) spent in class. It sometimes felt like time was
dragging on (trôi qua chậm chạp), especially when I wasn’t particularly
interested in the subject. Also, having to deal with (đối phó với)
assignments and homework in the evening took up so much of my free
time. It wasn’t easy to balance schoolwork with personal time.

4. What did you look forward to most at school?

The thing I looked forward to most at school was recess (giờ ra chơi). It
was the only time during the day when I could let loose (thả lỏng) and
have fun with my friends. I also loved taking part in extracurricular
activities, like sports and art classes, where I could take my mind off (xả
stress) the academic pressure and just enjoy being creative.

5. What skills did you learn at school that might be useful in your
work?

At school, I learned several skills that I believe have been useful in my

work, especially communication skills and time management. I remember
having to speak in front of (nói trước) the class, which helped me
become more confident when presenting ideas. I also learned how to
organize my time (quản lý thời gian) efficiently, which is crucial for
meeting deadlines at work.

6. What forms of exercise did you do when you were at school?

When I was at school, I took part in various forms of exercise. I was

really into sports, especially basketball and soccer. These were great ways
to stay fit (giữ dáng) and also build teamwork (xây dựng tinh thần làm
việc nhóm). I also enjoyed running and participating in school sports
competitions, which kept me active and energized.

7. How important was painting to you when you were at primary

school?

Painting was really important to me during primary school. It was one of

my favorite subjects, and I looked forward to (mong đợi) art class every
week. It was a way for me to express my creativity and escape from
(tránh khỏi) the routine of academic work. I felt a real sense of
accomplishment (thành tựu) when I finished a painting, and it helped
me develop my artistic skills over time.

8. How did you celebrate birthdays when you were a child?

When I was a child, birthdays were always a big deal. My family would
throw me a party (tổ chức một bữa tiệc cho tôi) with all my friends and
relatives. We’d have a cake, balloons, and a bunch of presents (một
đống quà), which was always the highlight. We’d play games, eat
snacks, and just have a blast (vui hết mình). It was always a joyful
occasion (dịp vui vẻ), and I loved the attention and the chance to make
memories (tạo kỷ niệm) with everyone.
9. What games did you enjoy playing when you were a child?

As a child, I really enjoyed playing outdoor games (trò chơi ngoài trời)
like tag and hide-and-seek with my friends. We’d often run around
(chạy quanh) the neighborhood, laughing and having a great time (thời
gian vui vẻ). I also loved playing board games like Monopoly with my
family. It was a great way to spend quality time (dành thời gian quý
giá) together and develop my strategic thinking (phát triển tư duy chiến
lược). These games always made me feel connected to the people around
me and helped me relax (thư giãn) after a busy school week.

WORK AND FUTURE ASPIRATIONS

1. What job would you like to do in the future? Why?

In the future, I would love to work in the field of marketing or branding.

I’ve always had a passion for creativity and thinking outside the box (suy
nghĩ sáng tạo), and marketing allows me to come up with (nghĩ ra)
innovative ideas that can make a big impact on a brand’s success. I enjoy
the idea of connecting with (kết nối với) people through storytelling and
shaping the image (hình ảnh) of a product or company. It’s a job that
combines strategy, creativity, and communication, which are all skills I
enjoy using.

2. Would you ever want to be a celebrity? Why? / Why not?

Honestly, I don't think I would want to be a celebrity. While the idea of

fame and living in the limelight (sống dưới ánh đèn sân khấu) might
seem appealing to some, it comes with a lot of downsides (nhược điểm),
like a lack of privacy and constant public scrutiny (sự giám sát liên tục
từ công chúng). I value my personal space (không gian riêng tư) and
prefer to live a more low-key life (sống cuộc sống giản dị hơn). For me,
having a successful career and a fulfilling personal life is more important
than the attention that comes with celebrity status. I’d rather stay out of
the spotlight (tránh xa sự chú ý).

DAILY LIFE AND HOBBIES

1. What do you usually do during the weekend?

During the weekend, I like to take it easy (thư giãn) and unwind from the
busy week. On Saturdays, I usually spend time with (dành thời gian với)
family and friends, maybe going to a café or watching a movie together.
On Sundays, I catch up on (bù lại) personal tasks, like organizing my
schedule for the upcoming week or doing some light exercise. It’s a time
for me to recharge my batteries (lấy lại năng lượng) and prepare for the
week ahead.

2. Do you prefer to read a book or watch TV?

I personally prefer reading a book over watching TV. I find that reading
allows me to escape into (thoát khỏi) a different world and really
immerse myself in (hoà mình vào) the story. It’s a great way to expand
my horizons (mở rộng tầm mắt). Watching TV is fun, but I feel like it’s
often more of a passive activity. I like the idea of being able to use my
imagination (sử dụng trí tưởng tượng) when reading, rather than just
absorbing someone else’s ideas.

3. Do you eat healthy food?

Yes, I try my best to eat healthy food. I make an effort to (nỗ lực để)
include more vegetables and fruits in my meals. I also prefer cooking at
home so I can control what goes into my food and avoid overly processed
ingredients. I try to stick to (tuân theo) a balanced diet and avoid too
much junk food. It’s important for me to take care of (chăm sóc) my
health, so I make sure I’m getting the nutrients I need to feel good.

4. What sort of restaurants do you usually eat at?

I usually enjoy eating at casual restaurants where I can have a relaxed

meal with friends or family. I’m into places that offer a variety of dishes,
so everyone can find something they like. I also enjoy visiting farm-to-
table (nông trại đến bàn) restaurants that focus on fresh, local
ingredients. I feel like eating at those kinds of places is a great way to
support local businesses (ủng hộ doanh nghiệp địa phương) and enjoy
healthier food at the same time.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND CITY LIFE

1. Tell me about the different types of public transportation in your

city.

In my city, we have a variety of public transportation options. There are

buses, which are quite convenient and cover a wide range of areas (bao
phủ nhiều khu vực). The metro system is also a popular choice (lựa
chọn phổ biến) for people who want to get around quickly (di chuyển
nhanh chóng), especially during rush hour. There are also taxis and ride-
sharing services like Grab, which are great when you need to get
somewhere fast (đi đâu đó nhanh chóng). Overall, public transport is
relatively affordable (phải chăng) and provides a great way to reduce
traffic (giảm tắc nghẽn giao thông) in the city.

2. How do you feel about using a mobile phone on public transport?

Personally, I think using a mobile phone on public transport is quite

convenient (tiện lợi). I often check my emails (kiểm tra email) or listen
to music (nghe nhạc) during the commute. However, I do think that
people should be mindful of others (chú ý đến người khác), especially
when talking loudly on the phone. It’s important to keep the noise level
down (giảm mức độ ồn ào) and be considerate of other passengers. That
said, I also think mobile phones help people stay connected (giữ kết nối)
and make the journey more enjoyable for those who need to kill time
(giết thời gian).

3. How do you feel when you have a lot of things to do in a short

space of time?

When I have a lot of things to do in a short space of time, I can feel a

little overwhelmed (cảm thấy choáng ngợp) at first. I tend to prioritize
tasks (ưu tiên công việc) and focus on what needs to be done first. I
usually break things down (chia nhỏ công việc) into smaller tasks to
make them more manageable. I find that staying organized and taking a
deep breath (hít thở sâu) helps me to stay calm and get things done
(hoàn thành công việc) effectively. It’s also important to stay positive
(giữ thái độ tích cực) and not let the pressure get to me (để áp lực làm
mình nản lòng).

ANIMAL AND NATURE

1. In what ways are animals used to help people with their work in
your country?

In my country, animals play a vital role in assisting people with various

tasks. For example, working dogs (chó làm việc) are used in agriculture,
especially in herding livestock (chăn thả gia súc). They help farmers
round up (hợp lại) cattle and sheep, which can save a lot of time and
effort. In some rural areas, animals like oxen or buffaloes are still used
for plowing fields (cày ruộng). In addition, animals such as horses are
sometimes used in tourism, where they carry tourists (chở khách du
lịch) on scenic rides. Animals truly lend a helping hand (giúp đỡ) in so
many ways in my country, and they make the work much easier for
people.

2. What kind of animals do you like?

I’ve always had a soft spot for domestic animals (động vật nuôi trong
nhà) like dogs and cats. I love dogs because they are incredibly loyal and
provide companionship (cung cấp sự đồng hành). They’re very playful
and energetic, which makes them great for keeping you active (giữ bạn
năng động). Cats, on the other hand, are more independent, but I enjoy
their company because they bring peace (mang lại sự yên bình) to the
home. Both animals make a house feel like a home (làm cho ngôi nhà
trở thành một tổ ấm). Overall, I appreciate animals that bring joy
(mang lại niềm vui) and comfort to our lives.

3. What type of ancient objects do you find most interesting? Why?

I find ancient pottery and ceramics especially interesting. These objects

not only tell a story (kể một câu chuyện) about the culture and history of
past civilizations, but they also showcase incredible craftsmanship. The
designs on ancient pottery are often intricate (tinh xảo) and symbolic
(mang tính biểu tượng), and I feel that each piece holds a piece of
history (giữ một mảnh lịch sử) within it. What fascinates me the most is
how these objects have stood the test of time (chịu đựng thử thách của
thời gian) and have been preserved for us to admire and learn from
today.

YOUR TOWN

1. Do you think the roads in your city need improvement?

Yes, I believe the roads in my city definitely need some improvement.
There are certain areas where potholes (ổ gà) are quite common, and it
can be a real hassle for drivers (rắc rối lớn cho tài xế) and pedestrians (
người đi bộ) alike. To be honest, while the main roads are generally in
good shape, some of the smaller streets are in need of repairs. It would
really make a difference if the authorities could address these issues
sooner rather than later.

 Address issue: solve problem

2. What is the condition of the roads in your city like?
The condition of the roads in my city is a bit of a mixed bag. In some
parts, the roads are well-maintained, smooth, and easy to navigate, but in
others, there are quite a few bumps and cracks. All in all, it’s not
terrible, but it could definitely be better, especially for cyclists and
pedestrians who are more vulnerable to poor road conditions.

Bumps and cracks: Những vết lồi lõm và nứt nẻ trên mặt đường

3. How do people cross the road in the city where you live?
People in my city usually cross the road at designated crossings, such as
zebra crossing or traffic lights. However, there are some who take a more
casual approach, crossing wherever they please, even in the middle of
the street, which can be dangerous especially in the countries where
major part of drivers use motorcycle to move. Still, most people are fairly
careful, and there’s always the option to use pedestrian bridges or tunnels
in more crowded areas, so it’s generally safe to cross.

4. Are the roads and streets in the area where you live busy?
Yes, the roads and streets in my area can be quite bustling, especially
during rush hours. Since it's a residential area close to the city center,
many people pass through on their way to work or school. It’s not
uncommon for there to be traffic jams, particularly on weekdays.
However, the area is well-connected, so public transport helps to ease the
congestion. Despite the hustle and bustle, it’s still manageable for the
most part.

 Bustling: Náo nhiệt, đông đúc

 Traffic jams: Tắc nghẽn giao thông
 Well-connected: Liên kết tốt (chỉ việc giao thông dễ dàng nhờ các
tuyến đường, phương tiện công cộng)

begin by saying… On top of that I can also add that… And, I
shouldn’t forget to mention that…)
I’d like to begin by saying that I have a deep appreciation for a variety of
cuisines. On top of that, I can also add that I especially enjoy dishes that
are rich in flavor and spice. And, I shouldn’t forget to mention that when
I’m in the mood for comfort food, nothing beats a hearty bowl of pasta or

just about anything as long as it’s delicious.

2. Tell me something about your hometown? (Da Nang) (use

structures : I’d like to begin by saying…On top of that I can also add
that…And, I shouldn’t forget to mention that…)
I’d like to begin by saying that Da Nang is a beautiful coastal city located
in central Vietnam. On top of that, I can also add that it has a wonderful
mix of modern and traditional elements, making it a great place to
explore, especially Da Nang’s residents extremely hospitable and
friendly. And, I shouldn’t forget to mention that the city is well-known

gần gũi của nó) to famous landmarks like the Marble Mountains. All in
all, Da Nang is a vibrant city with a lot to offer.

3. Tell me about the different types of public transportation in your

city? (bus and metro system) (must use structures: There’s a fairly
wide range of…The first one that comes to mind is…Another kind

There’s a fairly wide range of public transportation options in my city.
The first one that comes to mind is the bus system, which is quite
affordable and convenient for getting around, so that it’s always being
trust by children and elderly individuals. Another kind is the metro
system, which is being developed and is expected to be fully operational
soon. Both options are very popular among locals, and I think they offer a
great way to avoid the hassle of traffic (sự phiền toái của giao thông).
4. What kind of food do you like? (Korean food especially spicy
noodles) (must use structures: General speaking, I’m a big fan of…
In particular,…I think this is due to the fact that…)
General speaking, I’m a big fan of Korean food. In particular, I absolutely
love spicy noodles, especially those served with a rich, flavorful broth. I
think this is due to the fact that Korean cuisine often uses ingredients that
are both bold and delicious, like gochujang (Korean chili paste), which
gives the dishes a nice kick (mang lại hương vị tuyệt vời). It’s definitely
comfort food for me, and I can never get enough of it!

5. What kind of animals do you like? (small animal especially dogs)

(must use structures: General speaking, I’m a big fan of…In
particular,…I think this is due to the fact that…)
General speaking, I’m a big fan of small animals, and in particular, dogs
hold a special place in my heart. I think this is due to the fact that dogs
are incredibly loyal and affectionate (tình cảm). Growing up with dogs,
I’ve learned that they’re not just pets, but true companions who always
bring joy and laughter into the home. They’re definitely my favorite
animals.

6. Is there anything you don’t like about your hometown? (hot and
wet weather) (must use structures: General speaking, I’m not really
fond of…to be more specific…I think this is due to the fact that…)
General speaking, I’m not really fond of the hot and wet weather in my
hometown. To be more specific, the high humidity levels during the
summer months can be quite unbearable (ko thể chịu đựng đc), and it
makes it difficult to enjoy outdoor activities. I think this is due to the fact
that the tropical climate often brings heavy rainfall, which can be a bit of
a downer (có chút buồn chán) for someone who prefers milder weather
(thời tiết ôn hòa hơn).

7. What kind of food do you like? (fast food and traditional food)
(must use structures: I think it depends really. Usually, I prefer…
However, if I have…)
I think it depends really. Usually, I prefer traditional food, as it offers a

day or just want something quick, I’m not going to lie—I do enjoy fast
food. It’s just so convenient, and sometimes you can’t beat (không thể
cưỡng lại) a good burger or pizza. Both have their time and place in my
life.
8. What do you usually do the weekend? (read book and camping)
(must use structures: I think it depends really. Usually, I prefer…
However, if I have…)
I think it depends really. Usually, I prefer to stay in and read a good book,
especially if I’ve had a hectic week (1 tuần bận rộn). However, if I have
the chance to get outdoors, I love going camping. It’s a great way to
reconnect with nature and unwind from the stresses of daily life. I guess
you could say I like a balance of quiet and adventure.

9. Do you eat healthy food? (must use structures: I think it depends

really. Usually, I prefer…However, if I have…)
I think it depends really. Usually, I prefer to eat healthy food, such as
fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins (protein nạc), as they give me the
energy I need to stay active and productive. However, if I have a craving

Well, recently I’d have to say that I’ve been eating more seafood
restaurants. I’m a huge fan of fresh fish, shrimp, and crab. Although I
suppose it could be argued that some people prefer other types of food, I
find that seafood restaurants always offer something special, especially
when the ingredients are fresh and prepared well.

11. What games did you enjoy playing when you were a child? (must
use structures: Well, recently I’d have to say that…, although I
suppose it could be argued that…)

friends when I was a child. Although I suppose it could be argued that
playing video games was just as popular, I found that games like hide and
seek or tug of war were a great way to spend time outside. Those simple
activities were always full of fun and laughter.

12. Where would you like to go for your next vacation? (must use
structures: Well, to be honest, I don’t really have…but I guess that if
I had to choose one, then I’d…I slightly prefer…)
Well, to be honest, I don’t really have a specific destination in mind. But
I guess that if I had to choose one, then I’d go to Japan. I slightly prefer
visiting places that are culturally rich, and Japan is definitely one of those
countries. I’ve always wanted to explore the mix of modernity and
tradition, especially in cities like Kyoto and Tokyo.
TASK 2 : Describe something colourful that you bought in the past

One colourful item I bought in the past was a wind chime. I purchased it
because I’ve always been drawn to things that add a sense of calm (cảm
giác bình tĩnh) and peace to my living space, and I thought it would be
perfect for my garden. It was a spontaneous decision (quyết định ngẫu
hứng) after seeing a beautiful one in a local shop, and I’ve never
regretted it.

The wind chime has vibrant colours – blues, reds, and greens – with a
touch of gold, making it eye-catching. It has a delicate design (thiết kế
tinh tế) with thin, polished metal rods that produce a soft, melodic sound
(âm thanh du dưỡng) when the wind blows, adding to its charm. It
stands out, especially on sunny days.

When friends or family visit my house, they always compliment it (khen

ngợi nó). Some have even asked where I bought it, interested in getting
one themselves. It’s become a conversation starter (chủ đề bắt đầu trò
chuyện), and I love how it enhances the atmosphere when we’re outside
and chatting.

I absolutely adore the wind chime. It’s not just decorative to me; it
evokes (khơi dậy) positive emotions every time I hear the gentle tinkling
sound. It brings a sense of tranquility (cảm giác bình yên) and has
become a symbol of serenity (biểu tượng của sự bình an) in my garden.
When the wind picks up and the chimes ring, it reminds me to slow down
and appreciate life’s little things.

TASK 3:

· Why do people like buying colourful things?

 People are drawn to colourful things because they are eye-catching

and fun.
 Colours can boost our mood, making us feel happier or more
energized.
 The fashion industry uses colours to create a buzz and attract
attention to new trends.

· Do you think colours affect people's moods? How?

 Yes, colours definitely influence our emotions. Warm colours like

red and yellow make us feel energized and excited.
 Cool colours like blue and green help us feel calm and relaxed,
creating a soothing environment.
 The colours around us can shift our mood, making us feel either
lively or chilled out depending on the hues.

· How important are colours in marketing and branding?

 Colours play a crucial role in branding, helping companies create

a strong identity.
 Different colours send messages, like red for energy or green for
environmental care.
 Brands choose colours carefully because the right one can build
trust, connect with customers, and even boost sales.

· Do you think certain colours are more suitable for specific

occasions?

 Yes, the right colours set the tone for different events. Black is
perfect for formal occasions, while light colours are great for
casual settings.
 Red and green are common during the holidays, creating a festive
vibe.
 The right colour can change the mood and make an event feel
more special and enjoyable.

TASK 2 : Describe a colourful event that you particularly enjoyed.

You should say:
Why you were there
Who you were there
What you was around you
And explain why you enjoyed the event so much.

I'd like to talk about a fun event I really enjoyed: a local cultural festival
in my hometown. It had a lively atmosphere, and I still remember the
energy and joy in the air. I go every year because it's a tradition in our
town, and I always look forward to it. The festival features music, dance,
food, and arts from our culture.

My friends and I went to enjoy the festive mood and spend time together.
We were all in great spirits, catching up while enjoying everything
around us. The place was full of activity—colorful stalls selling
handmade crafts, food vendors with delicious smells, and performers
showing off traditional dances. It was a beautiful sight.

What made the event special for me were the live music performances.
Local bands played great music, and the energy was contagious. People
danced in the streets, and the music made everyone feel amazing. The
bright decorations and costumes added to the fun, making the experience
unforgettable.

I enjoyed the event for many reasons. It was a perfect chance to escape
from everyday life and appreciate our traditions and community. Seeing
people of all ages coming together was heartwarming.

In short, the festival was a wonderful way to relax, enjoy our culture, and
create memories I'll treasure for a long time. The whole event had a
magical vibe, and I truly had the time of my life.

TASK 3

· What are some of the most colourful festivals in your country?

 the "Festival of Colours," is famous for its vibrant atmosphere,

with people throwing colourful powders in the streets.
 the "Festival of Lights," is filled with colourful decorations,
fireworks, and people wearing bright clothes.
 These festivals are bursting with energy and excitement, with
colours adding a special touch to the celebrations.

· Do people enjoy traditional or modern festivals more? Why?

 Many people prefer traditional festivals, as they are deeply

connected to culture and heritage, often involving family rituals
and customs.
 Traditional festivals evoke memories of childhood and offer
comfort through familiar practices passed down through
generations.
 Modern festivals, like music events, appeal to younger people for
their relaxed vibe and focus on entertainment, but traditional
festivals still hold a special place.

· How do festivals help to bring people together?

 Festivals create a sense of unity, allowing people to celebrate
together and share common experiences.
 They strengthen bonds between family and friends through
activities like dancing, cooking, or rituals.
 Festivals provide an opportunity to put aside differences and
enjoy the festivities as one community.

· Do you think festivals have become more commercialized over

time?

 Yes, festivals have become more commercialized, with businesses

taking advantage of them by selling products and sponsoring
events.
 Some festivals are now sponsored by big companies, using them
to promote their brands, while ticket prices can be quite high.
 This commercialization has shifted the focus from tradition to
consumerism, which dilutes the original spirit of the celebration,
even though it boosts the economy.

TASK 2 : Describe an important historical building that you have

seen or heard about. ( Dinh Doc Lap )
You should say:
What it looks like
Where it is
What it is used for
And explain why this building is important

I’d like to talk about the Independence Palace (Dinh Doc Lap) in Ho Chi
Minh City, Vietnam. This historical building is very important to the
Vietnamese people, and I find it fascinating.

The Independence Palace has a unique design, combining French-

colonial and modern styles. It’s a large building with a bright yellow
exterior (màu vàng sáng), surrounded by a lush garden and a beautiful
courtyard. Inside, you can find spacious rooms with vintage furniture and
historical exhibits from the 1960s and 1970s.
Located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, the palace is easily accessible
for both locals and tourists. It’s an iconic symbol of Vietnam’s
independence and modern history. Once the presidential palace of South
Vietnam, it was the site where the fall of Saigon occurred in 1975,
marking the end of the Vietnam War. Today, visitors explore its history
through exhibits, visit the rooms where crucial decisions were made, and
enjoy the tranquil gardens.

This building is important because it symbolizes the reunification of

North and South Vietnam after the war. The storming of the palace by
North Vietnamese forces in 1975 marked the collapse of the South
Vietnamese government.

In conclusion, the Independence Palace is not only an architectural

marvel but also a key historical site representing Vietnam’s struggle for
independence and its journey to unity.

TASK 3

· Why do governments invest in preserving historical buildings?

 Governments preserve historical buildings because they are an

important part of a country’s heritage and culture.
 These buildings connect us to the past, reflecting history,
traditions, and identity.
 They also attract tourists, boosting the economy, and are often
architecturally significant, showcasing past creativity.

· Do you think modern architecture is as impressive as historical

architecture? Why or why not?

 Modern architecture is innovative, but historical architecture often

stands out for its craftsmanship and the stories behind it.
 Historical buildings were created with exceptional skill and
attention to detail, making them timeless.
 Modern designs focus more on functionality and technology,
while historical buildings have more charm and character due to
their age and history.

· How can historical buildings attract tourists?

 Historical buildings offer a window into the past, allowing

tourists to experience history and culture.
 Unique architectural features spark curiosity and provide
memorable experiences.
 These sites often host events or exhibitions, drawing in visitors
and offering an adventurous learning experience.

· Should old buildings be preserved even if they take up valuable

urban space?

 Old buildings should be preserved for their cultural value, even if

they take up space in crowded cities.
 They help maintain a city’s character and can attract tourists,
benefiting the local economy.
 However, it’s important to strike a balance; if a building doesn’t
serve the community, it might be repurposed or integrated into the
modern cityscape without losing its heritage.

TASK 2: Describe your ideal house

You should say:
What it would look like
Where it would be located
How easy or difficult it would be to own
And explain why it would be ideal for you.

If I had the chance to design my ideal house, it would definitely be a

spacious and modern place. I imagine it having large windows to let in
lots of natural light, with a minimalist style and sleek, contemporary
furniture.

The house would have an open floor plan, so the living room, dining
room, and kitchen would flow together seamlessly. There would be a
beautiful garden outside, with plenty of green space for relaxation. As for
the location, I’d want my house to be situated in a quiet, peaceful area
(nằm ở khu vực yên tĩnh, thanh bình)—somewhere near nature, but
still not too far from the city. It would be perfect to have a house
surrounded by trees, with a beautiful view of the mountains or the sea.
Being able to step outside and take in a breath of fresh air while still
having easy access to the amenities and activities in the city would make
it the perfect location.

Owning such a house might not be easy, though. It would require a lot of
hard work (công việc vất vả) and planning to save up for it, and it
might take a few years before I could actually afford it. It’s not something
that would come easily, but I think that if I stick to (kiên trì với) my
goals and keep working toward them, I could eventually make it happen.
This house would be ideal for me because it would offer both comfort
and peace of mind. I believe it would be the perfect place to relax after a
busy day and spend time with my loved ones. The beautiful surroundings
and the peaceful atmosphere would help me recharge and make me feel
more connected to nature.

In conclusion, my ideal house would be a blend of modern luxury and

nature’s beauty. It would be a place where I could truly feel at home and
unwind, offering me the perfect balance between work and relaxation.

TASK 3

· What are the key features of an ideal home for most people?

 An ideal home offers comfort, safety, and convenience, with

enough space for different activities.
 Natural light is a must, as it creates a welcoming and bright
atmosphere.
 A good location, close to work, schools, or public transport, and
modern amenities like a well-equipped kitchen, make a home more
desirable.

· How have housing preferences changed over time?

 In the past, people preferred large suburban homes, but now many
opt for smaller city apartments due to urban living's convenience.
 People are focusing more on proximity to work and accessibility,
moving closer to city centers.
 Environmental concerns have made eco-friendly, energy-efficient
homes more appealing to many.

· Is it better to rent or buy a home? Why?

 Renting offers flexibility and freedom from the responsibility of

home maintenance, especially for those who move frequently.
 Buying a home is often seen as an investment, building equity
over time and providing financial security once the mortgage is
paid off.
 For those planning to stay long-term, buying may be the better
option; for others, renting offers more mobility and less risk.

· What challenges do people face when buying a house?

 Coming up with a down payment is a major challenge, especially
in areas where house prices are through the roof.
 Securing a mortgage is tough, as it requires a strong credit score
and a stable income.
 Finding the right property can be tricky, as people often have to
compromise between location, size, and price.
 The whole process is time-consuming and stressful, filled with
paperwork and negotiations.

TASK 2: Describe your ideal healthy living environment.

You should say:
Where it would be
What features it would have
How easy it would be to live there And explain why this would be
your ideal environment

My ideal healthy living environment would be a peaceful, eco-friendly

area, located near a natural setting, such as a park or a forest, but still
within a reasonable distance of the city for convenience. I imagine it
being somewhere where you can enjoy the best of both worlds—a bit of
greenery for a sense of calm, but also access to all the amenities you need
for work and social life.

In terms of features, the home itself would be spacious and filled with
natural light. I would love large windows to let in the sun and provide
views of the outdoors, creating a calm atmosphere. The design would be
sustainable, with energy-efficient appliances and solar panels to reduce
the environmental footprint. I’d also like a small garden where I can grow
my own herbs and vegetables, which would not only be healthy but also
help me unwind and stay connected to nature. The area around the home
would have walking and cycling paths, which would make it easy to stay
active.

Living in this environment would be quite easy. The location would be

peaceful, but there would also be a sense of community, where neighbors
can come together for social activities. Clean air, access to green spaces,
and a quiet atmosphere would make it an ideal place for relaxation. At the
same time, there would be shops and cafes close by, so I wouldn’t feel
isolated. The healthy lifestyle would be supported by the nearby
amenities like gyms or yoga centers, which would make it simple to
incorporate exercise into my daily routine.

This would be my ideal environment because it would promote both

mental and physical well-being. The combination of fresh air, greenery,
and a sense of peace would allow me to relax and focus on personal
growth. Plus, the sustainable features would give me the peace of mind
that I’m living in a way that’s good for the planet. Overall, it’s the perfect
balance of comfort, nature, and a healthy lifestyle.

TASK 3

· How does the environment affect people's health?

 The environment plays a big role in our physical and mental well-
being.
 Living in polluted areas can trigger health issues, like asthma, and
increase heart disease risk.
 A clean, natural environment boosts health, reduces stress, and
helps people feel energized.

· What can cities do to become more environmentally friendly?

 Cities can reduce pollution by improving public transport and

cutting down on car use.
 Creating more green spaces, like parks and trees, can help purify
the air and provide relaxation spots.
 Promoting recycling and using renewable energy, such as solar and
wind, can make cities more sustainable.

· Is urban or rural living better for a person's health? Why?

 Urban areas offer better healthcare, jobs, and social activities, but
higher pollution and stress can harm health.
 Rural areas provide cleaner air, less noise, and more outdoor
activities, but may lack healthcare and social opportunities.
 Rural living often offers a healthier lifestyle, with a calmer pace,
if you can handle the isolation.

· How important is access to green spaces in residential areas?

 Access to green spaces is crucial for mental and physical health,

encouraging outdoor activities and relaxation.
 Parks and gardens boost well-being, reduce stress, and improve
air quality.
 Green areas cool down the city in summer and provide a much-
needed escape from urban life.

TASK 2
Describe a piece of furniture that you find particularly beautiful
( wind chime)
You should say:
Where it was
How it was made What it looks like
And explain why you it particularly beautiful

One piece of furniture—or rather, an ornamental item—that I find

particularly beautiful is a wind chime I once saw in a friend’s garden. It
wasn’t something you'd typically think of as furniture, but I still find it
fascinating and beautiful.

The wind chime was hanging on a small wooden porch, surrounded by

flowers and plants, creating a peaceful atmosphere. It was handcrafted,
with each metal tube individually shaped and tuned to produce a specific
note when the wind blew. The frame itself was made of smooth, dark
wood that contrasted beautifully with the shiny silver tubes hanging from
it. There were also decorative beads and small glass pieces that reflected
the sunlight, adding a touch of sparkle when the wind moved them.

The wind chime had an elegant, rustic feel to it. The tubes were not
uniform in length, giving it a natural, slightly whimsical appearance.
When the wind gently blew through, the chime made a soft, melodic
sound that was both calming and soothing. The combination of the wood,
metal, and glass created a sense of harmony with the natural
surroundings.

I find this wind chime particularly beautiful for a few reasons. Firstly, I
love how it brings together the elements of nature in such a simple yet
artistic way. It’s a piece of art that speaks to you, not just through its
appearance but through sound as well. The way it blends into its
surroundings and the calming noise it creates whenever the wind picks up
is something I find really peaceful. It doesn’t just add to the aesthetics of
the garden, but also creates a sense of serenity, which I truly appreciate.
For me, it represents a perfect balance of nature, art, and tranquility,
which is why I find it so beautiful.
TASK 3

· How has furniture design changed over the years?

 Furniture design has evolved dramatically, shifting from heavy,

ornate pieces to minimalist, functional designs.
 Modern furniture focuses on comfort and sustainability, using eco-
friendly materials like metal and recycled products.
 Space-saving and multi-functional pieces have become popular in
urban living.

· Do you think handmade furniture is better than mass-produced

furniture? Why or why not?

 Handmade furniture stands out for its durability, craftsmanship,

and uniqueness.
 Mass-produced furniture is more affordable and accessible,
making it practical for many people.
 While handmade pieces can be pricey, they offer better value in
terms of quality and longevity.

· How does furniture reflect cultural identity?

 Furniture reflects a culture’s story, using local materials like

wood and bamboo.
 Traditional designs showcase cultural values and lifestyles, such as
seating arrangements that reflect social structures.
 Furniture symbolizes a community’s history and traditions.

· What materials are commonly used for making furniture in your

country?

 Wood, especially oak and teak, is the most popular choice for its
durability and beauty.
 Metal and glass are gaining popularity for modern, sleek designs.
 Eco-friendly materials like bamboo and recycled wood are on the
rise.

· What can young children learn from doing art at school?

 Art helps children boost creativity and develop problem-solving

skills.
 It improves motor skills as children handle different tools and
materials.
 Art also builds confidence and teaches patience as kids work
through challenges.

· Why do you think secondary schools give arts subjects a low

priority?

 Schools prioritize subjects like math and science, seen as key to

academic success.
 The arts are often viewed as less practical, though important for
creativity and critical thinking.
 However, this may change as the value of a well-rounded
education becomes more recognized.

TASK 2:
Describe a time when your vehicle broke down during a trip.
You should say:
Where and when it happened
What caused the breakdown (if you know)
How you dealt with the situation
And explain how you felt about the experience.

A time when my vehicle broke down during a trip was a few years ago
while I was driving to a nearby town for a weekend getaway with friends.
It happened on a quiet country road, about an hour outside of the city.
We had just passed a small village, and the car suddenly started making
strange noises, followed by a sudden loss of power. We had no idea
what was going on at the time.

After pulling over to the side of the road, I checked the engine and
realized that the problem was likely a flat tire. I hadn’t noticed any signs
of a puncture before, so I was a bit caught off guard. Luckily, one of my
friends knew how to change a tire, so we got to work. It took a little
longer than expected because we didn’t have the proper tools on hand,
but eventually, we managed to replace the tire with the spare.

I felt a mix of frustration and relief. I was frustrated because we were

on a tight schedule and didn’t want to waste time, but I also felt relieved
that the situation wasn’t worse and that we had a spare tire. Looking
back, I was grateful that we were in a safe spot and had the right people
around to help. While it was a bit of a stressful experience, it also made
me appreciate how important it is to be prepared when traveling,
especially when you're in an unfamiliar area.
TASK 3:

· What do you think needs to be improved in public transport?

 Public transport should be more on time, as delays throw people

off track and disrupt their schedules.
 Vehicles need to be kept in tip-top shape with regular cleaning
and maintenance to ensure passenger comfort.
 There should be better access for people with disabilities, and
routes should be expanded to accommodate the growing number
of commuters, particularly during rush hours.

· Who likes to travel more, older people or younger people?

 Generally, younger people are more likely to hit the road as they
often have fewer ties and commitments, making it easier to travel.
 They tend to be more adventurous and keen to explore, always
looking to experience new places and cultures.
 Older people, however, may prefer to stay put and enjoy the
comfort of their own surroundings, though many, especially
retirees, take the opportunity to travel when they have the time.

· Are there fewer people using private cars because of improved

public transport?

 Yes, as public transport gets better, more people opt for buses and
trains instead of driving their private cars.
 In large cities, where traffic congestion is a nightmare, people
ditch their cars in favor of more convenient and eco-friendly
options.
 With growing environmental awareness, many individuals jump
on the bandwagon and prefer using public transport to cut down
on their carbon footprint.

· What are the advantages and disadvantages of private transport?

 Advantages: Private transport offers unparalleled convenience

and gives you the freedom to come and go as you please without
being tied to a schedule.
 Disadvantages: It’s expensive to maintain, with costs for fuel,
insurance, and repairs adding up over time. Plus, stuck in traffic
and dealing with the hassle of finding parking can be a huge
headache.
 While private transport gives you the freedom to travel at your
own pace, it’s a costly affair and can take a toll on the
environment.

TASK 2
Describe an energetic person that you know
You should say:
Who this person is
How you know them
What they do that makes them energetic And explain how their
energy affects those around them.

An energetic person I know is my close friend, Sarah. I met Sarah a few

years ago through a mutual friend, and we’ve become good friends ever
since. She’s one of the most lively people I’ve ever encountered, always
full of energy, no matter the time of day.

What makes Sarah so energetic is her love for fitness and being
constantly active. She’s an avid runner, and you’ll often find her
jogging early in the morning or going for long runs on the weekend.
Besides running, she’s always taking up new challenges like yoga,
hiking, or even cycling. Her enthusiasm for these activities is contagious,
and she constantly encourages others to join her. Even when we’re out
and about, she’s always on the go, talking about the next workout or
adventure she’s planning.

Her energy definitely rubs off on those around her. When we hang out,
she motivates us to be more active and step outside our comfort zones.
Whether it’s getting up for an early morning run or just being more
productive during the day, Sarah’s positive energy is infectious. Her
passion for staying active and healthy has inspired me to adopt a more
energetic lifestyle as well. She’s the kind of person who makes
everything feel exciting, and you can't help but be more energized when
you're around her.

TASK 3

1. What jobs need a lot of physical energy?

 Jobs in construction, farming, and warehousing require heavy lifting

and outdoor work.
 Healthcare jobs like nursing and paramedics involve long shifts and
patient lifting.
 Jobs involving manual labor or repetitive tasks demand stamina and
strength.

2. Do you agree that jobs in the past needed more physical energy
than jobs today?

 In the past, tasks were done manually, relying on physical strength

(e.g., farming and factory work).
 Many modern jobs are automated, reducing the need for physical
effort.
 Some current jobs, especially in healthcare, still require significant
physical energy.

3.Do you think that jobs that need a lot of physical energy should
offer higher pay?

 Jobs with high physical energy involve physical risks, long hours, and
health issues.
 Higher pay would reward the physical effort and the toll on the body.
 It could attract and retain workers in crucial fields requiring intense
physical labor.

3. How can older people improve their physical energy levels?

 Regular exercise like walking, swimming, or strength training helps

keep muscles and joints active.
 A balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, and proteins provides energy-
boosting nutrients.
 Staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and managing stress improve
overall energy levels.

PART 3:

How popular is art as a school subject?

o Art’s popularity varies; it’s seen as secondary to core

subjects like math and science in some schools.
o In creative-focused schools, art is valued more, but in
academic ones, it’s often sidelined (bị gạt sang một bên).
o Despite this, art plays a crucial role in fostering creativity
and personal expression.
What can young children learn from doing art at school?

o Art boosts creativity and helps children express emotions.

o It improves fine motor skills (kỹ năng vận động tinh) and
self-confidence.
o Children also learn patience and teamwork through
collaborative projects (các dự án hợp tác).

Why do you think secondary schools give arts subjects a low

priority?

o Core subjects are prioritized for university admissions

(tuyển sinh đại học) and future careers.
o Arts are seen as less practical for job prospects (triển vọng
nghề nghiệp).
o Budget cuts (cắt giảm ngân sách) often affect non-essential
subjects like art, limiting opportunities for creative
development.

In what ways are artists important in society?

o Artists open people's eyes to new perspectives and ideas,

challenging the status quo (tình trạng hiện tại) .
o They speak volumes (nói lên rất nhiều điều) about the
issues and struggles within a society, creating awareness.
o Artists leave a lasting impression on history, shaping how
future generations understand the past.

What should governments do to support the arts?

o Governments should put their money where their mouth is

(thực hiện những gì đã nói) and provide more funding for
art projects.
o They need to throw their weight behind (ủng hộ mạnh mẽ)
cultural events to give artists the platform they need.
o Offering tax breaks (giảm thuế) or grants would help artists
keep their heads above water (duy trì) and focus on their
work.

Why do styles of art change over time?

o Art changes because society is constantly on the move (liên

tục di chuyển), with new ideas and challenges arising.
o As times change, artists push the envelope (thử thách giới
hạn) to reflect shifts in politics, technology, and culture.
o New trends and influences always emerge, forcing artists to
think outside the box and explore different techniques.

What can you learn about a culture from its art?

o Art speaks volumes (nói lên rất nhiều điều) about a culture's
values, beliefs, and history, offering a window into their way
of life.
o It helps you connect the dots (kết nối các điểm) between
past and present, showing how traditions evolve over time.
o Through art, you can get a feel for (cảm nhận, làm quen với)
a society’s identity, what they cherish, and how they face
challenges.

Where do archaeologists often find ancient art?

o Archaeologists often dig up ancient art in places like ruins,

tombs, and temples.
o Art can be found in hidden corners of ancient cities or
under the surface of old buildings.
o Sometimes, these artifacts are uncovered by accident
during construction or development projects.

What can archaeologists learn from ancient art objects?

o They can piece together historical events, rituals, and

customs that were important to ancient societies.
o Ancient art reveals the mindset of past civilizations,
showing what they valued or feared.
o It also provides clues about social structures, such as how
power was distributed or the roles of different groups.

How can governments protect ancient sites?

o Governments should tighten the reins (thắt chặt kỷ luật) on

development projects near ancient sites to prevent accidental
destruction.
o They can set up regulations (thiết lập quy định) to control
tourism and preserve the integrity of these locations.
o By putting their foot down (kiên quyết) on illegal
excavation or looting, they can ensure the safety of precious
artifacts for future generations.
What features distinguish modern-day objects from ancient
ones?

o Modern objects are often made from synthetic materials

(vật liệu tổng hợp) like plastic, while ancient items were
typically crafted from stone, clay, or metal.
o Ancient objects often tell stories of their time, with intricate
designs or symbolic meaning, whereas modern objects can
be more functional and mass-produced.
o Modern-day objects usually have technological features,
like screens or buttons, which were unheard of in ancient
times.

Why do some items increase in value as they get older, while

others don't?

o Some items increase in value because they become rarer

with time, and the historical significance or craftsmanship
makes them highly sought after.
o Items linked to important events or famous figures are
more likely to hold their value or appreciate.
o However, mass-produced items tend to lose their worth over
time, as they don't carry the same cultural weight or
uniqueness.

What present-day items might be interesting to archaeologists

in the future?

o Smartphones and tech gadgets might provide fascinating

insights into our daily lives, communication, and social
trends.
o Money, such as coins or banknotes, will likely be studied to
understand economic systems of the modern world.
o Artwork and pop culture items like films or
advertisements could reveal a lot about our values and
cultural shifts during this era.

Apart from keeping old objects, how else can we keep in touch
with our past?

o We can preserve historical sites and landmarks, allowing

future generations to experience the physical remnants (di
tích vật lý) of the past.
o Oral traditions and storytelling play a crucial role in passing
down history and cultural values.
o Literature, music, and films can also serve as powerful
tools to reflect on and keep alive historical events and
cultural heritage.

How important is it for human beings to maintain their links

with the past?

o It's vital because our past shapes our identity and values,
helping us understand who we are today.
o Maintaining links with the past helps us learn from our
mistakes, ensuring we don’t repeat them in the future.
o It also fosters a sense of belonging and continuity,
connecting generations across time.

In what ways can the events of the past help us to understand

our future?

o By studying past events, we can spot patterns and trends

that may predict future developments.
o Learning from historical successes and failures helps us
