Art design basics

Finial project:

I chose my monochromatic piece because I like how the red was transformed into so

many tones, tints and shades. I also liked this piece because I usually don’t work with acrylic

paint, so it was fun to use and mix colors. Something I struggled with on my piece is the hair. I

feel like I didn’t fully achieve the desired look that I wanted. Instead, I got more of clumpy hairs.

I also feel like my horse needs more detail because it looks plain

and 2d to me. I wished I could have spent more time and did

more details to this project. Overall, I am surprised with how it

turned out. If I were to do this project again, I think I would add

more details and pick a different color than pink. I think these

adjustment would help create a more vibrant are piece.

My last piece that I created in art was a 3d space optical illusion. I personally liked how it

turned out. Some mediums that I used to make the piece 3d were cardstock, glue, and regular

paper. I like how the spaceship goes off the page because it gives it more of a 3d look. The value

of the planets also helps make the planets pop out of the paper instead

of looking flat. Something I struggled on for this piece was making the

objects stay. It was also hard to hide the paper that was holding the

drawings up. Overall I think this piece came out really good and I am

happy with how it turned out.

I would say my hardest project would have to be my

monochromatic project because I don’t really work with acrylic paint, and

I had a limited amount of time due to me going on a trip. This was also a

hard project because I couldn’t really figure out how to bring the 3d

aspect to life. I think my easiest project would be my hand drawing

because the piece just kind of flowed. I didn’t have to put a lot of effort and because I had such a

small space to work with, I could fill all the empty space. I would like to improve in my drawing

skills more because I feel like I am not the best at sketching things out and making things

proportionate. I feel like I have become more creative this year because I have done projects I

would have never done like op art and distorted portraits.
