Rationale The education sector is continuously evolving, with an increasing emphasis on
the quality and standardization of learning resources. To ensure the delivery
of high – quality education, it is essential to establish and adhere to rigorous
standards for learning materials and process.

As specified in the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (RA 10533), Sec. 5
The DepEd shall adhere to the following standards and principles in
developing the enhanced basic education curriculum:
(d)… contextualized
h) … flexible enough to enable and allow schools to localize, indigenize and
enhance the same based on their respective educational and social contexts.

As defined, Contextualization refers to the educational process of relating the


curriculum to a particular setting, situation or area of application to make the
competencies relevant, meaningful and useful to all learners.
“Contextualized Teaching and Learning is a group of instructional strategies
designed to link the learning of basic skills, and academic or occupational
content by focusing teaching and learning directly on concrete applications in
a specific context that is of interest to the student” (Kalchick & Oerte, 2010,
p.1).

This orientation workshop on Learning Resources Standards and Quality


Assurance Process is designed to empower participants with the knowledge
and skills needed to uphold and enhance the quality of educational resources.
By focusing on standards and quality assurance, the workshop will contribute
to the delivery of high-quality education, fostering academic excellence and
institutional integrity.

The training workshop aims to:
