Narrative Report

On December 4, 2024, we conducted our demo teaching session at Aslum Sagkahan Child
Development Center, Tacloban City. We arrived at 6:30 A.M, before their classes began, ready to
engage with a group of 15 eager students.

To start the day on a positive note, we led a morning prayer, after which Teacher Leanlinda
Ayaso warmly introduced us to the class. As it was our first interaction with the students, we made
an effort to connect with them before diving into the lesson. We chatted and engaged them in light-
hearted activities to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Our class began with an energizing motivation activity, where we sang and danced together.
This not only set the tone for the day but also allowed us to observe the students' personalities. We
quickly identified those who were active and cooperative, as well as those who were more reserved.
Each of us took on the parts of the lesson we were assigned, working collaboratively to deliver the
content effectively. However, as expected in any classroom, there was one particularly hyperactive
student who tested our patience. He demonstrated his independence by eating his snacks during the
lesson, stepping onto tables multiple times, and even rolling on the floor.

This experience taught us invaluable lessons about classroom management and the
importance of adaptability. Handling a class of young learners requires patience, creativity, and the
ability to maintain their attention, which can be challenging given their short attention spans.
Despite the hurdles, we are deeply grateful for this opportunity. It provided us with a real-world
glimpse into teaching and prepared us for similar scenarios in the future. This experience will
undoubtedly help us become better educators when we step into our own classrooms.
