Talent Management or Strategic HRM

Does TM replace strategic HRM or does the former reinforces the latter?

There are arguments supporting the idea that talent management is superior
practice compared to HRM while other views are that TM strengthens the
strategic role of HRM. Use scholarly support [For example, Barney, Lewis &
Heckman, Blass, Tarique and Schuler (2012)] and share your perspective on
this matter with the class.

Approaches to Talent Management
Inclusive approach:
Talent management should apply to all workers.

Exclusive approach:
Organizations should disproportionately invest scarce resources
in the individuals or jobs from which they expect the greatest
return.

Talent Engagement vs Employee
Engagement
Both are different.

Talent engagement means bringing on board the talent desired.

It is related to but different from employee engagement – which refers to
the degree to which employees are emotional and intellectually invested
in the company.

Aleshia Gopie
The Contemporary Approach to talent
engagement: Employee Experience

“Most employers have made the employee experience part of their employee
engagement strategy.” (Tucker, 2020)

“employee experience is different from employee engagement. Where employee

engagement looks at the work attitude of employees, the employee experience
looks at the more day-to-day encounters and frustrations at work.”
- [Source: Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR)]

talent.
