OBSERVATION

Observation in other schools is a crucial aspect of professional development for learners. It

allows them to gain new insights into teaching practices, classroom management, and student
engagement. By observing other teachers in action, students can learn new techniques and strategies
that they can apply in their own future classrooms.

On May 7, 2023, we embarked on a journey to Maximina V. Barangan Elementary School to

observe the teaching strategies employed by teachers in their classrooms. The experience was
enlightening and eye-opening, as we got a glimpse into the world of education and the challenges faced
by teachers. As we walked into the school, the principal Mrs. Iris Sabala greeted us with a warm smile
and welcoming words. She introduced herself and asked what is the reason why we need conduct
observation in their school. What stood out most was her willingness to help. She made it clear that if
we ever needed anything or had any concerns, we could come to her for assistance. This level of support
from a principal is invaluable in creating a positive learning environment for students.
As we entered the vicinity, we are assigned to sit in to her class since its already AP session. We
conduct the observation in the Grade 1 Science Class with teacher Mrs. Litlyn Sabas. While observing,
Mrs. Sabas learn to tickle the attention of her pupils, her strategy on transferring knowledge and
upholding order among students. The way she creates an engaging, activity-based learning that is
learner-centered, considering children's knowledge, needs, experiences, etc. She is so good in motivating
kids to learn by focusing on how well they have learned a particular topic. Their interaction was so
amazing, the eagerness of the pupils to raise their hands just to answer and impart their knowledge to
the class is so awesome. Not even one pupil shows lack of interest, inattentiveness in the class
discussion, not motivated to learn and failure to do the subject's task. All pupils are participating. It is
just so good to know and witnessed how teachers put a big impact in each pupils lives just to help pupils
learn from the past so they can become better informed, and help themselves and their societies in the
future.

A good teacher can inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential, while a poor
teacher can hinder their progress and discourage them from learning. The effectiveness of a teacher's
performance is measured by various factors such as student engagement, academic achievement, and
classroom management. A great teacher is one who could connect with their students on a personal
level. They create an environment that fosters open communication and encourages students to express
themselves freely. They also have excellent communication skills, which enable them to explain complex
concepts in simple terms that are easy for students to understand.

Moreover, an effective teacher is knowledgeable about the subject matter they teach. They are
well-prepared for each lesson and have a clear understanding of the learning objectives they want their
students to achieve. They also use various teaching strategies that cater to different learning styles,
ensuring that all students are engaged in the learning process.
In conclusion, the teacher performance plays a critical role in shaping the future of our society. It
is essential that
we recognize and appreciate the efforts of our teachers who work tirelessly every day just to
teach pupils to become citizens who are aware, actively involved in public and civic affairs, and
contributing to the development of a progressive, just, and humane society.
