In a profile of our family, we include personal details about ourselves and other family members,
plus other interesting information about them. We also often describe our relationship with other
family members.

Read Jessica’s profile. You will find it on your student’s book page 59 exercise 1.

In this example, you saw different underlined words and structures. Complete the following:

so that - linking words - because - but - connectors of purpose

1. We use like linking words and, but , because , or and so to link ideas.
2. We use such connectors of purpose as in order to and so that to present a reason for doing
something.

YOUR TASK
Write a profile of your family of 100 words. You have another example on your workbook page 39
exercise 3. Follow this structure:

Paragraph 1 General details about yourself

Paragraph 2 Details about family members

Paragraph 3 Relationship with family

If you do not want to talk about your family, you can use the information about Jason on your
workbook page 39 exercise 4.

Here you have a checklist with all the required elements:

I follow the text structure mentioned before. x


I include the vocabulary and grammar from Modules 1, 2 and especially 3. x

I use punctuation properly.


I use linking words, connectors of purpose, time expressions and adverbs of
frequency.

more.
