Course Overview
This training is designed to give New Jersey’s early care and education professionals access to important
health and safety information and resources. Topics covered in this course include:

Course Design
This training consists of 7 lessons and 6 optional topics. This Self-Reflection and Resource Guide can
be used to collect notes on each section and refer to infographics included in the course.

Course Goal
Overall Goal
This course provides a refresher of the basic information and recommended practices for the core
health and safety content areas from the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG).

Course Objectives
By the end of this training, you will be able to:
• Recall key concepts related to health and safety in an early learning environment;
• Reference resources related to early learning; and
• Recall strategies for keeping children healthy and safe.
