1. Cách dùng ‘s để chỉ sự sở hữu


✅ Thêm ‘s vào danh từ số ít
 Ví dụ:
o This is Tom’s book. (Đây là cuốn sách của Tom.)
o My sister’s car is new. (Chiếc xe của chị tôi mới.)
✅ Thêm dấu ‘ vào danh từ số nhiều có s
 Ví dụ:
o The students’ classroom is big. (Lớp học của các học sinh rộng.)
o The teachers’ lounge is upstairs. (Phòng giáo viên ở trên lầu.)
o

✅ Thêm ‘s vào danh từ số nhiều không có s


 Ví dụ:
o The children’s toys are everywhere. (Đồ chơi của bọn trẻ ở khắp nơi.)
o The men’s restroom is over there. (Nhà vệ sinh nam ở đằng kia.)

2. Cách dùng thay thế "of"


Trong một số trường hợp, có thể dùng 's thay cho of để chỉ sở hữu.
 Ví dụ:
o The dog’s tail = The tail of the dog. (Cái đuôi của con chó.)
o The company’s success = The success of the company. (Sự thành
công của công ty.)
3. Cấu trúc ‘s trong mối quan hệ
 Ví dụ:
o This is my brother’s friend. (Đây là bạn của anh trai tôi.)
o That is Emma’s mother. (Đó là mẹ của Emma.)
4. Khi có nhiều danh từ
Nếu có nhiều người cùng sở hữu một vật, thêm 's vào người cuối cùng.
 Ví dụ:
o Jack and Lily’s house is beautiful. (Ngôi nhà của Jack và Lily rất
đẹp.)
Nếu mỗi người có vật riêng, thêm 's vào cả hai.
 Ví dụ:
o Jack’s and Lily’s cars are parked outside. (Xe của Jack và Lily đậu
bên ngoài.)
