1) A force of 7.5 N acted perpendicularly on an area of 1500 cm2. Find the resulting pressure
2) In the physical education class, Sarah did an exercise by standing on one of her feet, the area
of which was 100 cm2. If it is known that Sarah's weight is 500 N, what is the average pressure
exerted by Sarah?
3) Calculate the pressure at a point on a wooden board resulting from pushing a drawing pin
with a force of 20 N, knowing that the area of the point is 0.1 mm2.
4) A solid cuboid is made of metal with a material density of 8 gm/cm3. Its base length is 60cm,
its width is 40cm, and its height is 50cm. It is placed so that its base touches the ground. Find
the value of the resulting pressure.
5) A metal cylinder with a material density of 7900kg/m3. Its height is 2m. Its base area is 45cm2.
Calculate:
(a) The amount of pressure exerted on the ground if one of its bases touches the ground.
(b) The amount of the force pressing on the ground.
6) A cuboid with dimensions of 3cm × 2cm × 0.5cm and a density of 7850kg/m3. If the cuboid is
placed on a flat surface, knowing that g = 10m/s2, calculate:
(a) the maximum pressure.
(b) the minimum pressure.
7) A cubiod has a density of 800 kg/m3 and dimensions of 20 cm × 16 cm × 10 cm. If you know
that the acceleration due to gravity g = 10 m/s2, find:
(a) Calculate the pressure that the cubiod creates when placed on a surface at a base of 20
cm × 16 cm.
(b) Can you increase the pressure without using weights? Explain why?
