Case Project Hints:

In the following are some hints that can be helpful to complete the assignment successfully:

1. I would recommend that you create three VMs. For example, First: Use Server Core, name
CLCT4003-1DC Second: Use Datacenter Evaluation (Desktop Experience) name CLCT4003-2DE
Third: Use Datacenter Evaluation (Desktop Experience) name CLCT4003-3DE
2. Use CLCT4003-1DC to complete Task #1 of the project. Make the first VM as Domain Controller,
DC.
3. Install the DHCP on CLCT4003-2DE
4. Install DNS server forwarder on CLCT4003-1DC
5. During the process of creating and performing different parts of the project, you may use GUI or
CLI. In many cases you may use both.
6. Create ISCSI on CLCT4003-2DE and then attach it to CLCT4003-3DE
7. Create VM on CLCT4003-2DE
8. Install Hyper-V on CLCT4003-3DE and configure Hyper-V Replica
9. Installation and Configuration of WSUS (Task #9 about WDS): on CLCT4003-2DE select Windows
Server Update Services, Features, .NET Framework 3.5 Feature and then WSUS.
Select also WID connectivity from Role Services & then Content. Choose Web Server Role (IIS) &
confirm (the objective is to update, for example choose Critical updates, Definition updates,
Security updates).
To remove pause option: on CLCT4003-2DE again, check “use the update services console”,
create new GPO “WSUS Policy Management”.

Hope this helps,
