GENESIS
Greetings!
On behalf of the Faculty of Humanities and Science, Dr. MGR Educational and
Research Institute, Adayalampattu, Phase II Campus, we are honored to inform
that the Department of Psychology is organizing their second National
Conference “Bodhismrithi - 2025” on the theme Manovritti - “Mrityorma Amritam
Gamaya (Mental health- Need of the Hour) on 8th & 9th April 2025. It is a platform
to get insight about an individual by promoting awareness in the individual development
thereby making the World a better place to live.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Aiming to bring about change and progress through education, the


Tmt.Kannammal Educational Trust was constituted in 1985 and started Thai
Moogambigai Polytechnic College. Within three years of its inception, Dr. M.G.R.
Engineering College was founded in 1988, and the Thai Moogambigai Dental
College was started in the year 1991. Both the colleges acquired Deemed
University status in 2003 as Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute as per
the orders of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and the Union Ministry
of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, New Delhi.

To provide for contemporary knowledge delivery of global standards, excellence


in knowledge creation in emerging areas and mutually rewarding university -
societal interaction.

MISSION

Our Mission is to make the Institution as a Resource Centre for Higher Level
Teaching - Learning Process, in the fields of Engineering, Dental Surgery,
Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Humanities & Sciences, Architecture, and
Management & Education. We wish to impart relevant training and education to
the youth to make them technically qualified, practically competent and skilled
human resources, to suit the needs and demands of the modern industries,
business or research and development organizations. We also wish to promote
ethical values and encourage creative ideas among the younger generation and
thereby to develop their entrepreneurial skills which will ultimately benefit the
Society and Nation.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Psychology at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute


was started in 2018 with the launch of B.Sc. Psychology program. M.Sc.
Psychology (Clinical) program launched in 2021 and M.Sc. Psychotherapy &
Counselling program launched in 2025. As we dwell deep into the inbuilt
complexities of the human mind, we ensure that students are equipped with the
tools and knowledge to study human behavior, thought processes and their
interpretations. The Department of psychology has about 500+ students and 13
teaching faculties with field expertise. The Department offers a professionally
curated curriculum to impart the professional skills in the students for a successful
career in psychology, with community outreach programs, internships, research
programs, laboratory sessions, industrial visits. The students are trained to use
psychometric tools for evaluation, analysis and counseling sessions.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
“Mrityorma Amritam Gamaya – Transformation from destructive energy to
constructive energy”. The conference aims at creating awareness and
promoting individual development to make the world a better place to live. In
the current world, we find that there is deterioration of Mental health both socially
and individually. Due to emergence of AI and social media there is a cut throat
competition everywhere, which is leading to the destructive tendency among the
individual and groups that results in the damage of Mental health, both socially
and individually. This concerning global change prompted us to develop the topic
“Mental health - Need of the hour”. The scientific paper presentation adheres to
the conference with the focus on encouraging the research scholars, students and
mental health professionals to share their findings and inferences.

OBJECTIVES

To promote and create awareness amongst individuals.


To explore and develop techniques and ways which will help maintain good
mental health.
To help the researchers exchange their scientific knowledge promising to the
field of Psychology
To enhance the understanding of the significant areas and issues that can
make individuals to lead life with right understanding in the right way
To provide the students an opportunity to revisit the mental health concepts
properly and maintain their individual mental well-being.
PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The papers are welcome on the topics listed below:


 Clinical Psychology
 Cognitive Psychology
 Counselling Psychology
 Gender Psychology
 Health Psychology
 Indian Psychology
 Neuro Psychology
 Artificial Intelligence & Psychology
 Other subject areas of Psychology

The research paper should follow the following guidelines:

Abstract should be within 250 words. The paper should be in PDF format using
Times new roman 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing. The research paper should
not exceed 15 pages including reference and appendix. APA format to be followed
with less than 5% plagiarism. The abstract and papers should be mailed at
