II. RATIONALE
Talubin community is a peace-loving community, but more than PEACE,
the community members long for a clean and sanitary place that properly
manifests good stewardship in general.

Pursuant to proclamation no. 244 series of 1993 which targets to get rid of
all illegally dumped wastes and litters, Talubin National High School adopts the
Clean up Drive Program which is conducted quarterly as one of the activities to
promote healthier and safer environment and at the same time advocate for the
proper management of home and animal wastes.

“Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. This adage was adopted as a driving

force for all the stakeholders in the community to spearhead the activity noting
that there is a large volume of varied scattered and unmanaged wastes caused
by inconsiderate attitude of the community members. This activity is also an
effort to support program of the barangay ordinances and the Barangay Health
Unit.

In relation to the mandate mentioned above, Performance Standard in

Health 10 which states that “The learners demonstrates competence in applying
knowledge of global health to local or national context” dictates that a learner
must know how to identify health/environmental issues that affects health and
must act upon it in their own little ways. With this competency, all students and
pupils of Talubin NHS and Talubin ES are required to take an active part in the
implementation of Deped memorandum no. 187 s. 2016 mandating public
schools to join the Clean-up drives.

For the part of the Barangay health unit, being the main health advocate,
this activity is also an avenue for the community members to remove and
dispose and clean breeding grounds for mosquitoes especially this rainy season.
Having this as a regular activity even if there is no probing from the barangay
officials or schools will help in the attainment of zero case for dengue disease.

It is then very fitting to jointly spearhead the said activity by the schools
and the local government together with the mandated organizations for a
successful implementation.

III. OBJECTIVES
 To collect and properly dispose litters along the major pathways.
 To clear clogged canals (Jallog, Gawwana, Lanas,Ginnao, Doddo)

NARRATIVE REPORT of the 2017 BONTOC DISTRICT MEET

The annual District Sports Meet was held at Bontoc on August 10-
13, 2017. The arrival was scheduled on the afternoon of Thursday. On
the 11th of August was the street parade then followed by the conduct of
the opening program at the Bontoc Central School. The municipal mayor
of Bontoc was invited as the Guest of Honor and Speaker who inspired the
athletes to do their best in during the competition. He assured the
athletes of his full support to the sports program of DepEd. After the
program at around 10 o’clock, the different games started immediately so
that no time will be wasted.

For Talubin National High School delegates, there were 48 students

who participated in the different events; They were accompanied by 10
coaches and volunteer parents and students who were kind enough to
cook food for the athletes. It’s also good to mention that there were also
members of the faculty who lend their personal cash just so the
delegation will have something to eat during the whole duration of the
District Meet, for the school has no available cash as of that time.

There were also people with a giving heart who donated food items
such as vegetables and patopat. Not all the games were finished on the
afternoon of Saturday due to unavoidable factors such as the bad weather
condition (during afternoon) making some of the outdoor games extended
until Sunday morning. The volleyball boys had to continue their games in
the morning of Sunday.
Finally, the games were finished before noon of Sunday. The
delegates had their lunch before homeward bound.
