Safety markings
The Neo 2 floor scrubbing robot has been fitted with various safety
markings, which must be adhered to for safe operation of the robot.
The battery tray and/or batteries The battery tray may tip over if
are heavy. Exercise caution when extended out from the robot
removing. without support.
Safety features
The Neo 2 floor scrubbing robot is supported by a range of automatic
safety features designed to detect and react to potential risks and
dangerous operation. These situations include:
• Obstacle detection
• Collision
• System diagnostics
• Loss of localization
When one of the above situations occurs, the robot either re-plans its
route or pauses operation. In some cases, power to the robot’s
mechanical systems is automatically disabled to prevent injury to
people, damage to the robot, and damage to the premises.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Review the safety warnings at the beginning of this manual and
take preventative action to ensure a safe working environment
for cleaning operations.
Emergency stops
Emergency stops (E-Stops) are triggered by operators. When an
Emergency Stop is triggered, the robot immediately stops moving and
its front wheel locks. The status indicators pulse red and a warning is
displayed on screen.
To trigger an E-Stop, press the E-Stop pushbutton. Operation is
immediately paused. Twist the E-Stop button clockwise to release.
Protective stops
Protective stops are triggered by the robot. When an protective stop is
triggered, the robot immediately stops moving and its front wheel
locks. The status indicators pulse red and a warning is displayed on
screen.
The robot automatically triggers a protective stop when:
• The front safety bumper is pressed.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The robot is heavy. Ask for assistance when moving the robot.
Sound
The speakers on the right and left sides of the robot alert nearby
pedestrians of the robot’s presence and actions.
Lights
Status lights improve the robot’s visibility and serve as status indicators.
Brake Lights
Red brake lights on the rear of the robot light
up any time it is slowing down in both Manual
and Auto mode.
Notifications
If the robot experiences an issue with one or more of its internal
systems, a safety incident is triggered, and an error code is displayed on
the Incident Notifications screen. See "Resolve incidents".
Depending on the issue, you may or may not be permitted to drive the
robot manually before resetting the error.
About security
For security purposes, all robot operators should receive unique user
accounts and passcodes. You are required to enter your passcode when
you first turn on the Neo floor scrubbing robot.
User accounts are created through the Command Center website and
are automatically transferred to the robot during synchronization.
About plans
Before a Neo 2 floor cleaning robot can clean an area on its own, it
needs a cleaning and/or disinfection plan. Plans tell the robot where
and how to clean.
There are six general steps for creating a plan:
1. The facility manager maps an area (see "Mapping").
Robot features
The images below show the locations of key features on the Neo 2 floor
scrubbing robot.
1. Recovery tank drain hose
2. Emergency Stop (E-Stop)
button
3. Touchscreen display
4. Power button
5. Vacuum filter (inside top tank
lid)
6. Manual throttle & steering

WARNING
If you need to leave the robot unattended (other than when it is
in auto cleaning mode), always log out and power down the
robot.
To log in:
1. Use the keypad to enter your
passcode.
2. To correct a mistake, tap .
To log out:

Pre-cleaning essentials
Before using the Neo 2 floor scrubbing robot to clean an area, the
following tasks must always be performed.
Before cleaning:
✔ Perform pre-sweep.
✔ Remove low-lying objects (≤15 cm).
✔ Use “wet floor” signs for safety.
Cleaning plans are used for scrubbing floors. Neo 2 floor scrubbing
robots both with and without Disinfection Add-Ons can run
autonomous cleaning plans.
Resolve incidents
If the Neo 2 floor scrubbing robot detects a possible fault, the robot
displays a "diagnostics check in progress" notification and comes to a
complete stop. You cannot operate the robot while it is in this state.
After the robot completes its diagnostics check, any detected faults are
displayed on the Incident Notifications screen on the control panel.
Daily tasks
✔ Charge batteries
✔ Clean squeegees
✔ Check squeegees for wear
✔ Empty debris bin (cylindrical models only)
✔ Clean disc pads and brushes
✔ Check disc pads and brushes for wear
✔ Clean cylindrical brushes
✔ Check cylindrical brushes for wear
✔ Clean recovery tank
✔ Clean laser sensors
✔ Clean 3D sensors
✔ Clean debris diverters (if installed)
✔ Empty in-tank debris catch basket (if installed)
Weekly tasks

Monthly tasks
WARNING
Only use chargers approved for the robot’s battery type, equipped
with automatic shut off.
Do not overcharge the batteries.
WARNING
Do not connect a battery charger or other power supply directly
to the robot’s internal power connector.
WARNING
Always ensure the robot is powered down before charging the
batteries.
WARNING
Do not connect a battery charger or other power supply directly
to the robot’s internal Power Connector. The connector attached
to the battery cable must be used for internal charging of
batteries.
WARNING
Unsupported battery tray may tip over if pulled too far out of the
robot.
CAUTION
Ensure the cart bolt is
secure before moving
the cart.
Disc brushes
Check the brush regularly. For
optimal cleaning performance,
brushes should be replaced when
bristles reach 3/4 - 1” or flatten out
(whichever occurs first). See
"Replace floor pads and brushes".
Tip: For locations with hard water, clean the tanks with descaling
solution every two weeks to reduce the build-up of limescale.
Note: Use of the cloth should not result in water droplets on the
protective cover. If there is stubborn dirt or oil on the protective
cover, use a neutral, non-abrasive detergent diluted with water.
Clean 3D sensors
The Neo floor scrubbing robot’s 3D sensors are critical for identifying
and avoiding obstacles during cleaning. The sensors are installed inside
the unit and clear acrylic covers protect the sensor lenses.
Dirt and dust buildup on these sensor lens covers can result in impaired
operation. Clean lens covers daily to maintain optimal performance.
Rotate squeegees
Side and rear squeegees should be rotated on a weekly basis. See
"Replace squeegees".
Ensure the hose does not interfere with the rear laser sensors.
CAUTION
Do not use chemical cleaning agents or compressed air to clean
the screen. Doing so may damage the screen and impair
performance.

2. Motor mount
3. Pad driver
1. Motor mount
4. Disc pad
2. Locking pin
3. Brush driver
Note: If the brushes make a loud noise when rotating, the most
likely cause is incorrect positioning on the hub or on the inside
port. Remove and re-install the brush.
Replace squeegees
The Neo 2 floor scrubbing robot is equipped with squeegees at its sides
and rear. Regularly check and adjust the squeegees to ensure optimal
cleaning performance.
Mapping
It is important to maintain accurate cleaning plans for safe and efficient
performance. If an area in your facility has permanent or semi-
permanent changes, or if you have a new area that needs to be cleaned,
Map a location
1. From the Home screen on the control panel, tap .
If this button is not visible, you do not have the appropriate
permissions to perform mapping.
2. On the pop-up dialog box that’s displayed, fill in the Location and
Name fields.
a. Location: Name of the facility
b. Name: Name of the resulting cleaning plan (for example,
“Aisles 101-110”, “USA Arrivals,” or “Entrance 2”)
3. Tap OK.
4. Use manual controls to drive the robot to an ideal start position
(refer to the Avidbots Command Center User Manual for details
on selecting a start position).
5. Position the robot so that it faces toward the longest direction of
travel. This will make the map easy to see on screen when it is
complete.
6. On the Ready to Learn screen, tap Start. The robot will begin
recording data from its sensors.
Laser sensors are blocked. Check to make sure that the laser
sensors are not blocked by hoses or
other objects.
