4.5mm Crochet Hook
Wool Needle (for sewing)

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
inc – 2 stitches into next stitch
dec – decrease over next two stitches in front loops only
FLO – front loops only
sl st – slip stitch
f/o – fasten off by slip stitch in next stitch
y/o – yarn over
cl – (y/o, pick up st) x3, y/o, take each stitch individually over last y/o to form single cluster
stitch

Note:
Unless stated work in continuous rounds marking last stitch of each row with a stitch
marker before proceeding with the next.
When stuffing parts make sure that you don’t overstuff them as you don’t want the stuffing
to show through when complete.
Each part should be filled just enough that it can be easily squeezed when pinched firmly.

Legs (x2):
Using Contrast
Row 1: 1st Leg: ch12, starting in 2nd ch from hook, sl st into next 3ch, (ch3, sl st into 2nd
and 3rd ch from hook, sl st into base of 1st talon) x2, sl st into next 8ch, 2nd Leg: ch12,
starting in 2nd ch from hook, sl st into next 3ch, (ch3, sl st into 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, sl st
into base of 1st talon) x2, sl st into next 8ch (2 legs with 3 talons each)

F/O leaving a short end.

Cut a 20cm end of same colour for beak later.

Body:
Using Main
Row 1: ch 2, dc7 into 2nd st from hook (alternatively dc 7sts into magic ring) (7)

From this point you need to alternate colour after every row.
Just change colour after completing last st of every row carrying
ends up back of work and because you haven’t changed colour till
end of st it will create a spiral effect.

Secure with a couple of small sts.
Weave end through head and cut flush.

Eyes (x2):
Using Black Oddment
Thread end through head coming out 2sts to right of beak on the same row, do 3 or 4 back
sts 1 row in depth up from the original exit point.
Then thread end through to opposite side of face and repeat for 2 nd eye.
Weave end through head and cut both ends to finish.
