INT. CLASSROOM – MORNING

lesson begins. JACK sits at the very back, near the window,
isolated from the rest of the class.

JACK stares outside, watching leaves rustle in the wind.

JACK sneaks a glance at DIANA, who is laughing with her
friends.

the window and stealing glimpses of DIANA.

DIANA writes something in her notebook, unaware of JACK’s

JACK walks home along the same empty street, his posture
slouched and face expressionless.

(Wide Shot: Street)

The same routine. JACK walks home again, but this time, a
hand suddenly grabs his neck from behind.

(Close-Up: Jack’s face)

Startled, JACK freezes as a voice whispers in his ear.
VOICE
Holdap ‘to.

(Medium Shot: Jack and Edward)

JACK spins around to see EDWARD, his mischievous friend,
grinning widely.

JACK pretends to be angry and pushes EDWARD away.

next to DIANA, visibly nervous.

His hands fidget nervously with the hem of his shirt.

FEMALE STUDENT 1 (STELLA)

So, picture-picture lang, ganon?

She leans forward eagerly.

The group bursts into laughter as FEMALE STUDENT 2 lightly

DIANA adjusts her posture, looking serious.

DIANA
Guys, time to be serious na. Sabi ni Sir, yung gagawin daw
natin is portrait photojournalism. Magpipicture daw tayo ng
mga students in a way na nire-represent yung school spirit.

(Over-the-Shoulder Shot: Stella to Diana)

STELLA
Ayan na naman yang school spirit na yan eh! Ano ba kasi
yan?
DIANA (calmly explains)
School spirit is yung mga good qualities ng school natin.
Halimbawa, pagiging malinis ng school grounds, o kaya yung
pagiging competitive ng school natin sa acads.

STELLA (relieved)
Ah, yun lang pala eh. So magpipicture lang tayo ng mga
achievers?

DIANA (nodding)
Pwede.

STELLA (teasing)
So kayo nalang dalawa ni Jack.

(Close-Up: Jack)
JACK freezes, wide-eyed.

JACK (stammering)

Everyone turns to look at him.

JACK (nervously)

Everyone laughs as DIANA shakes her head in exasperation.

Guys!

Anyway, Diana, kayo na bahala ni Jack. Kasi kayong dalawa
lang yung pinakamatalino sa section natin.
DIANA (confused)
What do you mean?

STELLA
Magpicture-picture nalang kayo, ganon.

DIANA (serious)
Eh ano gagawin nyo?

STELLA (grinning)

JACK walks down the road, deep in thought, his face tense.

EDWARD notices Jack’s expression and smirks.

Ang linis mo na at presentable. At nung nagsimula kang
magsalita—sheesh. Daig mo pa yung titser kung mag-discuss.

EDWARD (laughing)
Di ko na makita yung kawawang nilalang kanina. Speechless
lahat, eh. Ano nga ‘yung sinabi mo sa huli?

EDWARD (mimicking Jack’s voice)

JACK (chiming in)

“—it is not a measurement of intelligence.”

Speechless talaga lahat. Pati ‘yung bida-bidang president,
di naka-imik. Pero nung napansin ni Ma’am na bukas zipper
mo—
JACK (groaning)
Wag mo na ipaalala.

elbow.)
EDWARD
Ang pinupunto ko, kahit sobrang takot ka noon at parang
hihimatayin ka na, pumunta ka pa rin sa harap namin at
pinakita mo kung sino ka.

(Close-Up: Jack, his expression softening.)

EDWARD (serious tone)
Para sakin, ‘yan ang tunay na katapangan.

(Medium Shot: Edward looking at Jack.)

EDWARD
Oo, palagi akong napapa-trouble noon, laging may
kasuntukan, pero hindi ako matapang. Isang tingin lang ni
Papa, tiklop ako, eh. Pero nung araw na ‘yon, binigyan mo
ako ng tapang. Tapang na iligtas si Mama sa lasenggong
‘yon.

EDWARD
Natutunan ko sayo na hindi matapang ang isang tao kung di
siya takot. Baliw lang yung mga walang takot.

Ang tunay na matapang, siya yung kahit parang hihimatayin
na at maiihi na sa pantalon, hindi pa rin umaatras.

pero hinaharap niya ‘yung takot niya.

EDWARD
At ‘yung pinoproblema mo ngayon? Smol ting. Babae lang

Diana. Gusto kita. Pwede ba maging tayo?

(He groans, rubbing his face with his hands.)

JACK (shaking his head)
Ang cringe bwiset.

(Close-up: Jack takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, and

steadies himself.)
JACK
Gusto ko lang malaman mo na… gusto kita matagal na.
EXT. SCHOOL BENCH – DAY

(Wide shot: Jack and Diana sit side by side on the bench.

DIANA (excited)
Eto kaya? Para last pic.

JACK
Hmmm… masyadong staged. ‘Lam mo yun.

DIANA
So?

JACK (thoughtfully)
Dapat medyo candid sya. Yung hindi alam ng subject na
pipicturan sya. Dapat authentic at natural lang para ma-
showcase natin yung mismong personality ng subject as
opposed to the ‘school spirit’ that she represents.

(Close-up: Diana tilts her head, staring at Jack with a

JACK (noticing her stare)
Di mo nakuha?

DIANA (teasing)
Hindi… I mean oo, pero ba’t she?
JACK (caught off guard)
Syempre kasi ikaw?

DIANA
Eh halos picture ko na lahat yung ipapasa natin.

JACK (chuckling nervously)

Wala tayong magagawa, maganda ka eh.

shoulder. Jack catches up, calling out to her.)
JACK

Oh bakit? May naiwan ako?

JACK
May gagawin ka mamayang hapon?
DIANA (shrugging)
Wala naman. Bakit?

JACK
May sasabihin lang ako.

DIANA
Ano nga? Ba’t di mo pa sabihin ngayon?

JACK

DIANA (playfully rolling her eyes)

Sus… pasuspense pa eh. Sige, aantayin kita sa may puno dun
sa dinadaanan mo pauwi. May sasabihin din ako.

JACK (confused)
Ano?

DIANA (smirking)
Mamayang hapon.
(Close-up: Jack sighs, resigned.)
JACK
Okay.

DIANA (waving again)

Bye ulit.

(Medium shot: Diana walks away as Jack stands there, his

nerves clearly visible.)

EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD PATH – LATE AFTERNOON

(Wide shot: Jack is walking home. The setting sun casts a

warm glow on the street. Ahead, Diana walks at a relaxed
pace, her silhouette framed by the golden light. She
doesn’t notice Jack behind her.)

(Medium shot: Jack hesitates for a moment, then takes a

deep breath and starts walking faster to catch up to her.
He fidgets with his hands as he moves.)

(Tracking shot: Jack’s pace slows when he notices Edward

further ahead, standing near the tree where Jack and Diana

EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD PATH – CONTINUOUS

(Wide shot: Jack walks faster, almost breaking into a jog.

His breathing becomes erratic, and tears begin to stream
down his face.)
(Close-up: Jack wipes his eyes with trembling hands, but
the tears keep coming. His lips tremble as he struggles to
hold in a sob.)

(Sound cue: “Close To You” grows louder, overtaking the

ambient noise of the neighborhood.)

(Tracking shot: Jack starts to run. His sobs escape in

sharp, uneven gasps. He clutches his chest as he cries, his
pain pouring out in screams that pierce through the music.)

(Wide shot: Jack runs down an empty street, his silhouette

shrinking into the distance as the golden light of the
setting sun fades into the horizon.)

(The music swells, carrying the scene to its emotional

peak.)
