JAPAN TRAVEL BUREAU COMPANY BACKGROUND
Japan Travel Bureau or better known as ‘JTB’ was founded in Japan as Japan Tourist Bureau in 1912. With more than a century’s
presence in the industry, JTB is now Japan’s largest travel network and currently the 4 th largest travel operator based on revenue.
JTB’s presence was established in Malaysia in 1990 and it is currently the No.1 Japan Inbound Operator & Top 5 Outbound Operator.
JTB is also the sole operator of Japan Educational Programs in Malaysia to date. Having handled more than 10,000 incoming
Japanese students to Malaysia yearly, JTB first introduced the Educational Programs to Japan for Malaysian schools in 2004 with
the initial aim of providing opportunities for Malaysian students to visit their Japanese counterparts. The program was designed to
offer a truly authentic Japanese-style educational content in nature with strict monitoring of the students. It has since evolved to
include elaborate school visitation programs, hands-on experiences, rare sites inspections & workshops which require prior formal
appointments.

STUDENT GROUP PROJECT

Participating students are required to participate in 5 groupings, which was incorporated under PBS (Pentaksiran Berasakan
Sekolah) under the category of Non-Academic-PAJSK (Pentaksiran Aktiviti, Jasmani, Sukan dan Kokurikulum).

artist and architect of environment preservation. In this plant, students can observe the incineration

LIFE SAFETY LEARNING CENTRE – Natural Disaster & Life Safety Learning Skills Study
Located in an area where many continental plates meet, Japan is subject to earthquakes and volcanic
eruptions. In addition, Japan experiences a lot of rain and typhoons due to the fact that much of the land is
steeply inclined. Although Japan is a disaster-prone country, there many disasters are small in scale.
Consequently, Japan’s government has set up Life Safety Learning & Disaster Prevention Centre's all
around Japan to train and educate the people about the risk of fire, smoke, earthquakes, and typhoons, and
ways on how to deal with such disasters.
At the centre, students and teachers will go through two hours of disaster prevention course with an
instructor. During the course, the group will experience multiple simulations—earthquake, typhoon, fire
extinguishing experience, and smoke experience, and taught on the necessary actions to protect yourselves.
