Company location:- U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, Old Airport Road, Vimanapura Post,
Since its inception, URSC has played a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge satellite technology. In
the 1970s and 1980s, the center focused on mastering foundational satellite-building skills. By the
1990s, it had advanced to producing sophisticated satellites for communication, meteorology,
navigation, remote sensing, and space science.
2. Objectives: -
To understand the role and significance of satellite development in India’s space program.
To gain insights into the cutting-edge technologies used in the design, fabrication, and testing
of satellites.
3. Details of the Visit: - The industrial visit to U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru,
was conducted on 2nd January 2025. The visit commenced at 2:00 PM and concluded at 5:00 PM,
providing students with an in-depth understanding of satellite development processes and
technologies
4. Observations- We observed how weight differs on different planets. My weight on Earth is 48 kg. I
have calculated my weight on 8 different planets, as mentioned below:
Now, I will calculate your weight on the other planets for you.
Here is weight on different planets:
a. Mercury: 18.1 kg
b. Venus: 43.4 kg
c. Earth: 48.0 kg
d. Mars: 18.2 kg
e. Jupiter: 121.3 kg
f. Saturn: 51.1 kg
g. Uranus: 42.5 kg
h. Neptune: 54.6 kg
After calculating the weight on different planets, we visited the Aditya L1 mission, as well as the
Chandrayaan-1, 2, and 3 missions. We learned how spacecraft are deployed and how satellites are
launched into space. Following that, we observed the functioning of the lander and rover, and how
scientific studies are conducted on the Moon. We also learned about the successful landing of the
Chandrayaan-3 lander on the Moon. After gathering all this information, we sat in the seminar hall and
watched a video showcasing how the Chandrayaan-3 mission was successfully completed."

6. Photos of Industry –
7. Conclusion-
The industrial visit to U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) was an enriching experience that
provided us with a deeper understanding of satellite development and space exploration. We gained
valuable insights into how satellites are designed, fabricated, and launched, as well as their
applications in various fields like communication, navigation, and remote sensing.
The visit also enhanced our knowledge of India's significant achievements in space science,
including missions like Chandrayaan-1, 2, and 3, and the upcoming Aditya L1 mission. Observing
the functionality of landers and rovers, and understanding the critical processes involved in studying
celestial bodies like the Moon, was truly inspiring.
The session concluded with a video on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which highlighted India’s
technological advancements and successful landing on the Moon. Overall, this visit motivated us to
explore opportunities in the space sector and apply our learning to future innovations.
