II. Duties & Responsibilities

2.1 Fire Brigade Team

 One qualified personnel from the head office must be the team
leader for this committee branch.
 He must have the technical capability over the minimum fire
standards of the Philippines.
 This branch would conduct regular fire drills and fire
extinguisher usage demo, in each of each location, or a one-
time training, having the members invited from each location.
 A member from MAP location is a must, he/she must disseminate
all the knowledge, and later would act as skeletal force, to
perform during these kinds of emergencies.
 The inputs of this committee must be incorporated in the EHS
Manual of Amway Philippines LLC.
 Weekly reports and monthly reports for this branch must be
documented as part of our submission, re the performance and
actions for development.

2.2 Emergency Response Team

 This team shall develop all emergency procedures, for


Typhoon, Earthquakes, terrorism, or any given emergency,
not coverable by the fire brigade team.
 The responsibility of this branch is the same as the fire brigade
team, except that this team deals with all kinds of emergencies
prevention and evacuation protocol.
 This branch would ensure the preparedness of our facility, to
cater for the needs of our Employees and Map Locations in
times of this unexpected events.
 Seminars and drills must be conducted either on site or in a
single venue, together with the attendance of each member and
location representatives.
 Provision on programs for each month depending on the
monthly Safety awareness schedule (Please see Amway
Monthly Calendar for OSH).

2.3 Training and Education

 This branch shall ensure that all new and currently employed
personnel possess a safety awareness certificate. And ensures
that employee’s compliance with the existing occupational
Safety & Health Manual.
 The branch would cater for new seminars in advancement or
development of the safety & health personnel or its committee
members.
 The branch would issue memorandums on the new
guidelines for occupational safety in health in accordance
with the approved Occupational Safety & Health
Program.
 Continuously creating safety signages and advisory, to
ensure the presence of safety thru administrative controls
2.4 Welfare and Facilities

 This branch would serve as the voice of employee’s, in contributing the


implementation of the Occupational Safety & Health Program.
 This committee branch would issue suggestions and programs,
concerning the welfare of their co-employee’s.
 As part of our compliance with the Department of Labor and
Employment, an employee representative, must have a humble
seat on this safety committee, to raise concerns for their own
welfare

2.5 Health

 It is necessary that this committee should be spearheaded by


personnel with a background in health education, primarily an
occupational nurse or somebody that had completed the
Occupational First Aid Seminar.
 The committee would ensure that all our employees are free
from any illnesses, or they fit their respective scope of work.
 The branch would perform health information’s, health protocols or
guidelines. Depending on what is necessary.
 The committee must have the cooperation of first aiders to
act as the committee members.
 Ensure guidelines for work and non-work-related cases in
offices and stores, to minimize and eliminate workplace
illness or accidents.

2.6 Summary of Branches Responsibilities

 The 5 five branches are co-related to each other. It is best to


conduct a regular safety committee meeting once a month with
the attendance of each branch head.
 All the discussions and approvals must be well documented and
would be consolidated by the committee secretary.
 New guidelines for site implementation must be duly signed by
the safety committee head, prior to implementation.
 Minutes of meeting is a must. Copies of which must be
distributed on each branch and every Map location.

4. Implementation Guidelines

 A onetime seminar, involving all branch OSH Officers and its


representatives, must be conducted, to discuss briefly the duties
and responsibilities, as well as the reporting procedure and its
forms.
 Centralized communication must be established, to help and
educate our OSH officers on their regular daily safety activities.
 Standardized the reporting procedure, Separate guidelines and
framework would be given on each Safety and Health Committee
branches.
