Introduction
The student experience is always evolving in higher education. To satisfy students' changing demands,
support services and facilities must be improved. The Student Experience Committee assigned me this
portfolio as a volunteer student representative at Waltham International College (WIC). This portfolio
evaluates WIC support services and facilities to find opportunities for improvement.

Background and Context


The Student Experience Committee, a devoted body dedicated to improving the student experience, gave
me this portfolio as a volunteer student representative at WIC. The committee values overall well-being
and academic achievement for our diverse student group, which coincides with WIC's purpose (Waltham
n.d.).

This task is significant given the shifting higher education scene. WIC evaluates and improves its support
services and facilities since they shape student experience. This portfolio critically analyzes and critiques
WIC's support systems and facilities to make informed changes.

Purpose of the Portfolio


This portfolio offers a complete overview of WIC's student assistance services and facilities. This
assessment goes beyond a description to evaluate these services' efficacy and value. This assessment will
include a comparison with Leeds Trinity University to identify strengths and shortcomings.

My voluntary student representative position goes beyond data collection and presentation. I must
thoroughly and constructively examine WIC's assistance operations. This assessment's recommendations
aim to improve WIC student support services and facilities.

Role as a Volunteer Student Representative


Responsibilities
My voluntary student representative duties include collecting, evaluating, and reporting student support
service and facility data. I aggressively seek student perspectives, concerns, and needs. This post needs
collaboration with teachers, administration, and the Student Experience Committee to reflect student
experience holistically (Nelson & Peterson, 2021).

Connection to the Student Experience Committee


My effectiveness as a student representative depends on the Student Experience Committee. This
committee links students to administrative decision-making. Regular committee meetings guarantee that
student input and experiences shape this portfolio's results and suggestions (Student Experience
Committee, 2023).

The WIC purpose and vision promote academic quality, diversity, and student progress. Understanding
these fundamentals is crucial to assessing how successfully the institution's support services and facilities
meet its goals (Waltham n.d.).

The college website contains useful information regarding WIC's infrastructure, curriculum, and support
services. This data is used to evaluate WIC support services and facilities. By studying these data, we can
comprehend Waltham International College's student assistance system and why a student representative
should evaluate it.

Key Support Services at WIC


Academic Support Services
Academic help is essential for student achievement, and WIC provides several resources. This portfolio
part covers academic assistance services including tutoring, writing centers, and workshops. Assessing
their accessibility and academic performance assistance will be key.

Counseling and Well-being Services


Psychological well-being is essential to comprehensive education. WIC acknowledges this and counsels
kids with personal or academic issues. The accessibility, confidentiality, and impact of these counseling
services on student well-being will be assessed.

Career Services
Career preparation is a major purpose of higher education. Professional services at WIC help with
internships, job placements, and career progression. This section will assess these services'
comprehensiveness and efficacy in assisting students move from academics to the workforce.

emphasize the need of robust support services and facilities for a great student experience. The conclusion
will stress the student representation, Student Experience Committee, and Waltham International
College's collaboration to develop continuously (Howard & Jones, 2020).
