Introducing yourself – Giving personal information

Verbo BE
El verbo BE significa “ser” o “estar”.

Se utiliza para dar información personal, un lugar, una descripción, etc.


Por ejemplo:
- Nombre: I am Salma.
- Edad: My mother is 32 years old.
- Nacionalidad: My friend is from Bolivia.
- Lugar: The students are at school.
- Descripción: My dog is black and white.

Tiene tres formas completas (full form): AM, IS y ARE para oraciones afirmativas.
Sus formas abreviadas (short form) son ‘M, ‘S , ‘RE respectivamente.

Tiene tres formas para negativo: AM NOT, IS NOT y ARE NOT para oraciones
negativas.
Sus formas abreviadas (short form) son ‘M NOT, ISN’T, AREN’T respectivamente.

THE HOUSE - There is / There are
1- Look at the picture and write True or False. Correct the False ones.

Los verbos THERE IS y THERE ARE significan “hay”. Se usa en oraciones afirmativas.

Ejemplo: There is a computer on the table.  Hay una computadora sobre la mesa.
There are 2 mobile phones on the table.  Hay dos celulares sobre la mesa.

Los verbos THERE ISN’T y THERE AREN’T significan “no hay”. Se usa en oraciones negativas.

Ejemplo: There isn’t a computer on the table.  No hay una computadora sobre la mesa.
There aren’t 2 mobile phones on the table.  No hay dos celulares sobre la mesa.

THERE IS se usa para hablar en SINGULAR, cuando hay (o no) UNA SOLA COSA.

THERE ARE se usa para hablar en PLURAL, cuando hay (o no) DOS o MÁS COSAS.
