Assignment -3
1- How do school-wide discipline policies influence your approach to classroom management?
Discuss any changes you would recommend to these policies to improve their effectiveness.
Discipline is a tool for a teacher to reject the violence, disruptions, missing out from valuable
learning from students. It should focus on praise and encouraging good behavior instead of
enforcing good behaviors through fears.
An effective school wide discipline requires positive ways to manage students misbehaving
students in the classroom, rather than using punishment or rewards. It should be more than
a list of rules. It should be agreed upon and understand by everyone in the classroom.
Normally, school disciplines refer to the rules and strategies applied in school to manage
students’ behaviors and support students’ in developing self-management skills.
Below are the some lists of school wide disciplines and how they influence the classroom
management that lead to orderly schools and discipline.
• Visible and supportive classroom rules
Classroom rules like “Hand up to ask questions”, “Respect to teachers and
classmates”, “Be Quiet while others are talking”, “Share New Ideas”, and “Be Nice”
can build a classroom full of respectful discussions and growth mindsets.

2- Analyze the role of teachers-student relationships in effective classroom discipline. How can
strong relationships contribute to better behavior management?
Teachers are known as secondary ideal behavior model. So, using polite language,
maintaining eye contact, calling out specific students in friendly manners can build positive
relationships between teachers and students. Positive relationships between teachers and
students can encourage students’ motivation and engagement in learning. It also can lead
stress-free learning environments and molds learners' character and motivation.
A goal of classroom management isn’t just to run the successful lesson. It is to create a safe
and healthy learning environment for students. In a well-managed classroom, students feel
secure, admire, feels to pursue their academic interests. A good and disciplined classroom,
allows teachers to successfully impart materials, stimulate conversations and foster critical
thinking.
Disciplining students is teaching them to follow rules, laws, guidelines, and social standards.
This is very much what a teacher does both all of the time, no just when misbehaving. That
means teachers have to manage classroom effectively and have to be able to handle a large
number of variables. Teachers needs to consider how they appear to the students and how
we use our voices; the way they talk to the students.
Positive disciplines are used almost all over the schools. But these can be affected only if;
• Both teachers and students understand the consequences problems of misbehaving.
• The students understand what appropriate manner is and what is not.
• The manner the teachers deliver the technique matters, verbally or physically.
• Students and teachers have manual respects.
The strong effective teachers-students relationship is based on manual respects. Teachers
and students should have friendly relationships but not be friends. Building a friendly and
respectful relationship is at the heart of most behavior for learning policies. A strong
relationship with students helps teachers to use positive discipline technique to maintain
the positive outcomes and increase academic scores in classrooms.

In fact, using positive discipline technique can increase academic scores in classroom, but
provides many others benefits including;
• Fewer suspension and expulsions
• Attendance improves
• Parents indicate that they feel welcomed and are engaged with the school
• Students are more engaged and on tasks
• Classrooms are managed well (students respect the teacher and get along with each
other)
Developing a positive discipline plan by a strong effective teachers-students, that works, is
important to support an inclusive learning environment.
