GUIDELINES FOR DISSERTATION PREPARATION

(A) Number of Copies to be Submitted:

1. Soft Copy Submission for Plagiarism Check: All students are required to email a soft
copy of their dissertation to their respective supervisors at _official email id of the
supervisor_ for the purpose of checking the level of plagiarism.
• Acceptable Plagiarism Level: Up to 10% plagiarism is permissible.
2. Hard Copy Submission: Two hard copies along with one soft copy (in Word file format)
on a properly labeled CD are to be submitted to the Faculty of Law.

(B) Page Limit of Dissertation:

1. The dissertation should ideally be between 75 to 150 pages, with 1.5 spacing, on A4 size
good quality white paper.
2. Font: Times New Roman.

(D) Typing Instructions:

1. Font and Size:


• General Text: Times New Roman, size 12.
• Titles: Times New Roman, size 14.
• Footnotes: Size 8.
2. Margins:
• Page Margin: 1.5 inches on all sides.
3. Page Numbering:
• Lowercase Roman Numerals (i, ii, iii, and so on) for items i to viii (mentioned in the
Layout of Dissertation).
• Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, and so on) for subsequent pages.

(E) Submission Dates:

• Submission of Soft Copy for Plagiarism Checking: 15th April, 2024


• Final Submission (Hard Copies) of Dissertation after the Approval of the Supervisor: 25th
April, 2024

Additional Notes:

• Ensure that the dissertation adheres to proper academic writing and citation standards.
• Plagiarism will be strictly monitored, and any violation will result in consequences as per
the academic integrity policy.
• Students are encouraged to consult their supervisors regularly during the dissertation
preparation process to ensure adherences to guidelines and quality of work.
• Formats for Title Page, Student Declaration Certificate, and Certificate of Supervisor
are attached below. Please ensure adherence to these formats while preparing your
dissertation.
