I. COMPREHENSION (5 marks) Read the text carefully and answer the questions.
Text : Tortoise and Hare
Tortoise knew that Hare could run faster than he could, but he challenged Hare to a race. ‘’All right’’, said Hare. Hare could run
very fast, but he trained hard because he wanted to win the race. Tortoise was much slower than Hare, but on the day of the
race he looked very happy and confident. The kick-off was given ; Hare ran very fast, but after one kilometer Tortoise was first.
Hare ran faster, but after two kilometers Tortoise was still in front. Hare ran as fast as he could, but Tortoise definitely won the
race. How did Tortoise win ?
Easyl He was tricky, he asked three of his friends to friends to run the race with him, so there was another tortoise at each
kilometer, but Hare thought there was only one he was running with. So though Hare was faster, Tortoise was much cleverer !

In Africa, people think that sending girls to school is a wast of time. But nowadays girls or women can do what men can do. In
a paragraph of 12 lines write the importance of girls education.
