In the new law, offences like criminal intimidation and intentional insult
leading to a breach of the peace are addressed with changes in fines
and the addition of community service options (Section 351-357). The
law covers false statements conducing to public mischief, adjusting
penalties and introducing electronic means. Amendments in defamation
include replacing " Court justice" with "Court" and incorporating
community service in fines. Breach of contract fines in BNS is
heightened from two hundred to five thousand rupees.
