Ans: Reddit uses various techniques including hybrid recommender.

Reddit:
 Collaborative Filtering: Recommending movies and shows based on the viewing patterns
of users with similar tastes.

 Content-Based Filtering: Recommending content based on the attributes (genre, director,


cast) of previously watched titles.

 Trending Content (Non-personalized): Giving recommendations based on what’s trending


in the news

Purpose of Recommendation Build a community around content, discussion on topics. provide


relevant posts and discussions, increase user engagement

Recommendation Context Users interact with content by posting, commenting, voting, and
subscribing to subreddits. Content is based on individual or group
interests, with interactions driving recommendations
