1. How has architecture changed in your country over the years?

Architecture in my country has evolved significantly. In the past, traditional

houses made of wood and bricks were common, often featuring intricate
carvings and sloped roofs. However, in modern times, there has been a shift
towards high-rise buildings, glass facades, and minimalist designs due to
urbanization and technological advancements. Sustainable architecture is also
gaining popularity, with many buildings incorporating eco-friendly materials
and energy-efficient designs.

2. Do you think old buildings should be preserved, or should they be replaced

with modern structures?

I believe historical buildings should be preserved because they reflect the

cultural heritage and identity of a nation. They also attract tourists, boosting the
economy. However, if a building is unsafe or no longer functional, it may be
necessary to renovate or integrate modern elements rather than demolishing it
completely. A balance between preservation and modernization is crucial.

3. What role does architecture play in people’s lives?

Architecture is crucial because it influences our daily lives, as it determines the

functionality, aesthetics, and comfort of the spaces we inhabit. Well-designed
buildings can enhance productivity, improve mental well-being, and promote
sustainability. For instance, open spaces and natural lighting in offices can boost
creativity, while well-planned urban areas can reduce congestion and pollution.

4. What are some key features of modern architecture?

Modern architecture is characterized by simplicity, functionality, and

sustainability. Common features include open floor plans, large glass windows
for natural light, geometric shapes, and the use of materials like steel, concrete,
and glass. Additionally, many modern buildings incorporate green roofs, solar
panels, and smart technology to reduce their environmental impact.

5. How can cities be designed to be more environmentally friendly?

Cities can be made more eco-friendly by incorporating green spaces, efficient

public transport systems, and sustainable building materials. Urban planners
should prioritize pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, energy-efficient buildings,
and waste management solutions. Additionally, vertical gardens and rooftop
farms can help improve air quality and reduce the urban heat island effect.
