Part 1

TOPIC: PERFUME

1. Do you like perfume?

 Yes of course. Although I regularly don’t have a habit put some perfumes on my
body, sometimes I use it to participate outside activities or somewhere has a
formal ambient. You know, perfumes can not only mask our body odours but
also keep us smelling fresh throughout the day, and the way someone fragrances
can be a key factor in attraction. Therefore, most of my friends enjoy wearing
perfumes on a daily basic because they think it can boost their confidence and
make them more attractive.

2. Would you buy perform as a gift?

 Well, I would say no. I think it's quite a challenging task to choose the right
fragrances to match the recipient's needs and preferences. Besides, I have to
splash out over 1 million VND on buying perfumes having a renowned brand,
which doesn't suit me as a student. Instead, I prepare handmade gifts to present
to beloved people.

TOPIC: T-SHIRTS

3. Do you usually wear T-shirts?

 Yes, I do. The T-shirt is exactly to my liking and one of my wardrobe essentials.
Since it can do wonders for balance comfort, and appropriateness. That I mean,
the weather where I live is so hot that I sweat profusely, so the T-shirt is the best
choice because it's breathable. Next, the T-shirt also is super easy to mix and
match with other items which can help me versatile on a casual look or formal
occasion.

4. Do you like T-shirts with pictures or prints?

 To be honest, I am a follower of minimalistic style but it doesn't mean that my

fashion is tedious. I love typography designs in which designers add a unique
touch to outfits like slogans or special letters. I do believe it can boost my
aesthetic than plain colorful ones.

TOPIC: RIDING A BICYCLE

5. Do you like riding a bicycle?

 Yes, I do. I have a hectic schedule, so I really enjoy riding a bicycle as a

recreational activity which I can do to keep fit and blow off some steam every
night after a long working day. I start at 8 pm and spend 1 hour cycling around
the city where I explore new places and behold panoramic views of this at night.
It also gives me a sense of freedom and comfort.

6. Are there many young people riding bicycles in VietNam?

 To be honest, not as many as in the past when my country is more and more
modernized with the integration of state-of-the-art technology. So I do believe,
most young generation prefers motorbikes to bicycles since they're more faster
and convenient. However, some still use bicycles, especially students or those
who enjoy cycling as a form of exercise.

TOPIC: RELAX

7. What would you do to relax?

 Well, I would say that there are tons of things that I enjoy doing to unwind
which depends on the amount of time I have. For example, I love trekking in the
forest and immersing myself in the cool water stream of the waterfall when I
have two to three days off to go there. Cycling around the city at night is
something I enjoy, and occasionally I prefer to listen to music or binge-watch at
home.

8. Do you enjoy watching sports?

 Definitely yes, My favorite programs are Seagame and Tour de France, but I
have a hectic schedule, so I don’t have enough time to watch a match in person.
And then, I watch back on social platforms like YouTube or Facebook to catch
up on situations of competition.

TOPIC: STREETS AND ROADS

9. Are there roads and streets in the area where you live busy?

 I admit that the main road near my house is chaotic and packed with heavy
traffic flow during rush hours, which I face everyday. It's a herculean task for
me to go to school on time. Therefore, I have to look for a side street that helps
me to avoid the hassle of traffic congestion.

10. How do people cross the road in the city where you live?

 Well, according to my observations, crossing the road is quite stressful, so

people should be careful. Some individuals often wait to turn green and then
cross at the pedestrian crossing while others jaywalk by weaving through traffic
which is risky and not recommended.

TOPIC: BEAUTIFUL VIEWS

11. Where can you enjoy beautiful views in where you live?

 Well, I would say that I live in HCM City, where there are tons of skyscrapers
in the city center from its altitude I can see panoramic views at night. Besides, I
also behold some stunning landscapes through the reflections of the image on
the water, especially at night, this creates a gorgeous and peaceful scene that I
often go to appreciate.

12. Do you take photos of good views?

 Yes, of course, I love taking photos whenever I come across breathtaking

scenery. Besides, capturing stunning landscapes is a good way to keep my
memory alive in a frame and share the beauty of the place with my friends and
family who don't have a chance to go there.
Part 2

1. Describe a person (familiar or unfamiliar) you know.

I’d like to talk about my mom. She’s very thrifty and always on the
lookout for good bargains. She enjoys buying various things from
the street market, particularly fresh produce and clothes. She has
a knack for spotting the best fruits and vegetables directly from
the farmers and finding stylish, affordable clothing that you
wouldn't see in regular stores.

My mom usually goes to the market in our neighborhood, which is

held daily from 5 am to 10 pm. The market is conveniently located
just a two-minute walk from our house, so it’s easy for her to visit
regularly. And like any kind of market out there, this market is
filled with various vendors selling all sorts of goods, from food to
clothing to handmade crafts. So there’s always quite a hubbub
and vibrant environment here.

My mom prefers buying cheap goods for several reasons. As I said

before, she’s very budgetconscious. So obviously the first reason
is to save as much money as possible. Personally, I think this
frugality habit is quite common among all the mothers as it
enables them to have money for other essential needs like paying
tuition fees for their children. For some, this can even help them
afford the simple luxuries of life such as buying cosmetic products
or dining out. Additionally, she believes that not all expensive
products are of better quality. So it’s unnecessary to spend a lot of
money on items that she can get at a fraction of the cost at the
market. The last reason, I think it’s quite funny, is that she enjoys
the interaction with the vendors and the opportunity to haggle for
better prices.

2. Describe a thing (physical or concept object) you like.

Well, the most expensive item I’ve ever bought is my scooter,

which I purchased about three years ago. In Vietnam, scooters are
essential for daily transportation and most people use them in
their daily lives, and for me, I needed one that was reliable and
durable.

After doing some research, I decided to invest in a high-quality

Honda model, which cost quite a bit, around 40 million dongs. I
bought it from a dealership in Ho Chi Minh City in District 1, and at
the time, it felt like a huge financial commitment to me.
I use the scooter almost every day, whether it’s commuting to
work, running errands, or taking short trips outside the city. What I
love about it is how fuel-efficient and comfortable it is, especially
for long rides. To tell you the truth, I was hesitant about spending
so much money at first, but in hindsight, it was definitely worth it.
The motorbike has served me well, and I’ve had very few issues
with it so far.

Purchasing the motorbike gave me a sense of independence and

freedom. I no longer had to rely on public transport or others to
get around. Although it was expensive, I consider it one of the
best investments I’ve ever made, and it’s something that I use
daily. I’m quite satisfied with it at the moment to be honest

3. Describe a place (artificial or natural) you like visiting.

I'm going to talk about Da Lat, a wonderful place I visited with my

friends where we had a fantastic time. Da Lat is the largest city in
the Central Highlands region and one of the most popular tourist
destinations in Vietnam. It’s well-known as a romantic city with
breathtaking scenery and flowers. Additionally, Da Lat is unique
because you can experience four seasons in a day

The first time I went to Da Lat was five years ago when I was a
freshman at university. My final exams had just finished, and my
friends and I decided to take a trip together to unwind and
celebrate. We stayed there for three days and two nights,
exploring the city and its surroundings.

During the day, we visited various places of interest and tried a

variety of local foods. We also took lots of photos to capture the
beautiful scenery and keep memories of our trip. At night, we
strolled around the night market, snacking on street foods and
shopping for souvenirs.

Da Lat quickly became my favorite place to travel, and there are

several reasons for this. First, it’s a green city with many tall trees
and colorful flowers, making the air really fresh and clean, in
contrast to the hustle and bustle of HCM city. The weather in Da
Lat is comfortably cold all year round, which I found particularly
enjoyable since I tend to get sweaty profusely. Moreover, the
people in Da Lat are warm and friendly, and the food is delicious.

Overall, Da Lat offers practically everything that people could

desire for a relaxing vacation, from stunning landscapes to a
pleasant climate and friendly locals. Whether you're traveling
alone or with friends, Da Lat is a great spot due to the
combination of its natural beauty, cool weather, and hospitality.

4. Describe an activity that you like doing (present or future).

I’m an avid reader so I’d go with reading as my all-time favorite
activity when I’m on my own. I've made it a part of my daily
routine to read, even if it's just for a second. On average, I'd say I
spend about an hour or two completely absorbed in the pages of a
good book every day. It doesn't matter if it's a gripping novel, a
thought-provoking non-fiction book, or even some soothing
poetry; I'm up for it all. I like changing it up too so that I don’t get
bored of the same genre.

My favorite reading spot… is this cozy corner in my bedroom near

the window. I've created a small reading nook there with a
comfortable armchair, a small blanket, and a well-organized
bookshelf. It's the perfect spot for me to forget my worries and
escape into a good book.
The thing about reading that really pulls me in is how it transports
me to different worlds and allows me to explore varied cultures,
historical eras and perspectives - all within the confines of my
imagination. It's like taking an imaginary trip that broadens my
horizons and fosters empathy. Secondly, reading is my go-to
stress reliever. When I open a book, it's like waving goodbye to all
the worries and stresses of the day and diving into the author's
world where none of that stuff is relevant. It's a form of healthy
escapism that helps me recharge and face life. I think of it as
healthy because I learn more than I would just messing around on
my phone. Every book I read contributes a bit more to my
understanding of the world, and it's a fantastic way to build and
exercise my vocabulary.

For me, reading is a beloved solo activity because it offers me an

escape, broadens my horizons, relaxes me, and satisfies my
innate curiosities about the world. It's a habit that I treasure
deeply, and honestly, I can't imagine a life without the sheer joy of
reading.

Part 3

1. Do you think boys and girls play different games?

 I suppose so there are outstanding differences in the types of games that depend
on the individual preferences and abilities of both genders. For example, boys
often engage in more physically demanding active, and competitive games
because of better innate physical health, such as football or basketball, while
girls may lean towards activities like ballet or gymnastics because they tend to
be tender. However, it's important to note that these gender distinctions are
gradually changing, and more emphasis is being placed on inclusivity and
allowing individuals to pursue their interests irrespective of their gender. As a
result, both boys and girls can be good at their interests, fulfilling them with
confidence.

2. What kinds of games do children play these days?

 To be honest, With the proliferation of modern technology and the widespread

of the Internet, electronic devices have become more prevalent than ever. When
children pick up phones or tablets, they immediately get carried away and spend
hours on end playing games. This may be dangerous because children could get
addicted and distracted from studying. Moreover, those people engage in less in
outside activities like football, swimming, and hide and seek. I believe this
phenomenon leads to negative impacts on both the mental and physical health of
kids.

3. Do men and women have the same leisure pursuits?

 Well, apparently there are a myriad of differences between the two groups. I
assume that the most outstanding one would be that men are big fans of
physically demanding sports such as football and basketball. In contrast, women
prefer softer things like shopping for clothes. Another key difference is that men
generally love going to bars or pubs for a drink, while on the other hand, most
women tend to prefer coffee shop get-togethers.

4. What are some effects of climate change?

5. What should we do to solve problem of climate change?
