B. Establishing a The teacher will ask how much baon/pocket

purpose for the money the learners have. Then, the learners
lesson will identify who has the biggest amount of
baon/pocket money.

For example, if Val has 10 pesos and Godess

has 5 pesos, who has the biggest amount?
C. Presenting Our lesson for today is about comparing coins
examples/instanc and bills up to ₱100. We can compare money
es of the lesson by its value. Comparison is a way for you to
understand the value of each currency.

Relation
Name Example
Symbol
Greater than > ₱100>₱80
Less than < ₱80<₱100
₱80=₱80,
Equal =
₱100=₱100

• We use greater than symbol (>) when

the number on the left has a bigger value or
amount than the number on the right.
• We use less than symbol (<) when the
number on the left has a smaller amount than
the number on the right.
• We use equal sign or symbol (=) when
both numbers has the same values or
amounts.

D. Discussing new At this point, I encourage you to watch and

concepts and listen carefully to the short video clip I will be
practicing new showing.
skills #1
Are you ready?

questions for you. Just raise your hands if you
want to answer.
1. What animal was in the video?
2. What does the hungry alligator eat?
3. What is not part of his feast?
4. How does the alligator know which
number is greater and which is least?
5. Who can give me an example of
comparing money using the relation
symbols?

Very good! Give yourselves three claps and

say, “awesome!”.

E. Discussing new Now, let’s play a game using Kahoot!

concepts and Mechanics:
practicing new  You will be divided into 2 groups.
skills #2  Select a device where you’ll open the
Kahoot! app.
 Enter the game code I will write on the
board to enter the game.
 Work with your teammates in answering
the 10 item quiz.
 First team to finish will receive the 1st
prize, 2nd to finish will receive the 2nd
prize and so on.
 The team to get the most correct
answers will receive the grand prize!

Are you ready?

F. Developing Let’s have another game using Quizziz!

mastery (leads to Mechanics:
formative  You will be divided into 4 groups. Each
assessment) round is equivalent to two (2) points.
 Each group will be given Qcards to be
used in answering the questions.
 Raise the cards showing the your
answer.
(The teacher will demo how to use the Qcards
and will scan each groups' Qcard for their
responses.)

G. Finding practical Answer the following:

applications of

Generalizations  How can we use what we learned today in
and abstractions our daily lives?
about the lesson  Why is it important to know how to compare
coins and bills?

than and less than symbols are used to show
the relationship between two numbers. The
wide open side of the sign always faces the
number with the higher value.

I. Evaluating Direction: On your devices, open ThatQuiz

learning application. Then, enter the test code
N2MB57K5 and answer the test.
