Leadership is the ability to guide, influence, and serve others towards a common goal, especially in a
way that honors God. In the Bible, leadership is not about power or control but about service, wisdom,
courage, and obedience to God.
Leadership is a crucial aspect of human society, and the Bible provides numerous examples of
individuals who demonstrated strong leadership qualities. The Bible emphasizes that leadership is not
just about power and authority but about service, humility, faith, and obedience to God. Below are
examples of biblical leaders and the qualities they exhibited:
1. Visionary and Dream Interpreter – Joseph had prophetic dreams (Gen. 37:5-11) and interpreted
Pharaoh's dream (Gen. 41:15-32), showing his wisdom and foresight.
2. Perseverance and Faith in God – Despite being sold into slavery by his brothers (Gen. 37:28) and
imprisoned falsely (Gen. 39:19-20), he remained faithful to God.
3. Wisdom and Administrative Skills – As Pharaoh’s second-in-command, he wisely managed
Egypt’s resources during the famine (Gen. 41:47-49).
4. Forgiveness and Reconciliation – Despite his brothers’ betrayal, he forgave them and provided
for them in Egypt (Gen. 45:5-15).
1. Courage and Obedience to God – He confronted Pharaoh fearlessly and led the Israelites out of
Egypt (Ex. 5:1-2; 12:31-32).
2. Mediator and Lawgiver – He received the Ten Commandments from God and guided the people
in God's laws (Ex. 20).
