❑ ADMM-Plus is a multilateral defence cooperation framework that brings together the defence ministers of the 10
ASEAN member states, 8 Plus countries (dialogue partners), and Timor Leste.
❑ Aim : to strengthen security and defence cooperation for peace, stability, and development in the region.
• ASEAN Members include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand, Vietnam.
• 8 Dialogue partners include India, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the US.

❑ Establishment: The Inaugural ADMM-Plus was convened in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 12th October 2010.
• Since 2017, the ADMM-Plus meets annually, to allow enhanced dialogue and cooperation among ASEAN and the
Plus Countries.

❑ Focus Area: The ADMM-Plus currently focuses on seven areas of practical cooperation, namely
• Maritime security (MS)
• Counter-terrorism (CT)
• Humanitarian assistance and disaster management (HADR)
• Peacekeeping operations (PKO)
• Military medicine (MM)
• Humanitarian mine action (HMA)
• Cyber security (CS)

❑ Experts’ Working Groups (EWGs): EWGs have been established to facilitate cooperation in these areas.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh attended the 11th ASEAN Plus. During the meeting he met Malaysian counterpart Dato'
Seri Mohamed Khaled Bin Nordin and the Defence Minister of Lao PDR General Chansamone Chanyalath.

Defence minister invited the Laos minister to Aero India 2025. (Bengaluru, Karnataka - February 2025).

India and Malaysia will conduct Malaysia-India Defence Committee Meeting in Q12025 to discuss ways to strengthen
bilateral defence cooperation.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his Chinese counterpart Admiral Dong Jun held a meeting and agreed to rebuild mutual
trust and understanding.
During the meeting , Philippines and India agreed to expand and deepen cooperation in exchange of subject
matter experts, defence industry, counter-terrorism, space and maritime domain.

Note : Philippines is a current Country Coordinator for India in ASEAN and ADMM Plus forum 2025.

The defense minister Rajnath Singh met New Zealand’s Defense Minister Judith Collins and agreed to enhance

The policy made data sharing with Meta companies mandatory, removing users opt-out option. CCI
deemed this as an unfair condition under Section 4(2)(a)(i) of the Competition Act, undermining user
autonomy.
CCI directed WhatsApp to suspend sharing user data for advertising purposes for 5 years, to provide
users an opt-out option for data sharing unrelated to WhatsApp services and to clearly link data collection
purposes to shared information in its policies.
These measures aim to curb anti-competitive practices and protect consumer interests.
