Dear Shr Roy jl.

Sub: Listof projects, execution of whlch is to be kept In abeyance.

Indian Railways is executing large number of Infrastructuree Projects of New Line,
Gauge Conversion &Doubling. However, large numbers of projects are suffering
badly on account of non-acquisition of land, forest clearance, stiff
States not honouring their cost sharing commitments and law &local resistance,
order problems
etc etc.

These stalled railway projects are increasing the overall

projects of Indian Railway and eats away lot of time, energy throw forward of the
and resources of the
field units without commensurate gains. Moreover, the monitoring
Aayog. PMOetc. also criticizes the Railway for holding such Ministries, NITI
large shelf
and heavy throw forward with litle money available through General Budgetof projects
Raiway projects. for

Therefore, the projects of your Railway have been thoroughly reviewed in Board
and accordingly a list of 07 projects (Annexure-l) have
approval of Board (ME, MT & CRB), on which, no further been prepared with the
done till further orders. The projects which are in advanced expenditure is to be
and are crucial for Railway operation will be stage of completion
completed on priority with the
available resources so that, benefit will start coming to railway early.
Hence, the list of 07 projects is being sent to your Railway with
no further expenditure is to be made on these instructions that,
projects ill further orders &
execution on these railway projects should be kept in abeyance.

With regards,
DA: As above (Annexure-l)

Yours Sincerely.
