1.1 Machine Signs

1.1.1 General Information

Signs have been posted in certain areas on the machine. The meaning of the signs
with graphical symbols is explained in the following.
Depending on the message to be conveyed, the sign can be a prohibitive, warning,
mandatory, or an instruction sign. These signs are designed to protect the personnel
and machine. For this reason, make sure that these signs are always in perfect condi-
tion, and that damaged signs are replaced.
Failure to observe prohibitive, warning, mandatory, and instruction signs can result in
property damage, physical injury, or even death.

Observe the discharging time on the warning sign before starting work.
Hazardous voltage is still present in electrical equipment with a DC-link for a time after it has been discon-

nected from the power supply. Before doing work on such devices, let them discharge for the time speci-
fied by the manufacturer. If no discharge time is specified or no other instructions are given, wait at least
15 minutes.

The electrical equipment is not provided with a supply disconnecting device

This electrical equipment does not have a local supply disconnecting device!
The supply disconnecting device for this electrical equipment is located in the control cabinet of the main
machine or it is the supply disconnecting device of the main machine. When maintenance work is done,
10o03P2164 the supply disconnecting device must be set to the OFF position and locked in this position while service
personnel does work on the machine or its electrical equipment.

If the power supply is provided with a TN-C system (L1, L2, L3, PEN), the included switching bridge must be

Electrical connection

the pictogram. This is the only way to ensure the correct phase sequence and phase rotation.

ardous, due to the voltage from the UPS system.

Control voltage from external PELV source

PELV Protective extra low control voltage supplied from other electrical equipment which is not disconnected
by the supply disconnecting device of the electrical equipment of the machine itself, or which is still
present after the supply disconnecting device has been turned OFF.

Keep the control cabinet closed during operation.

If a control cabinet is equipped with an air conditioner, it is imperative to keep the control cabinet closed
while the machine is in operation! Failure to do so can result in electrical equipment overheating and, as a
consequence, being damaged or destroyed. The air conditioner also can be damaged or destroyed.
