INTRODUCTION

What is Retail Stores ?

A retail store is a physical or virtual establishment


where businesses offer a selection of products or
services directly to consumers for purchase. Retail
stores, also known simply as “retailers” or “shops,”
are physical establishments where products or
services are sold directly to consumers.

Definition

Retail refers to the sale of goods and services by a


business to the general public. Retail stores are the
locations where goods and services are made
available and sold. Different types of retailers exist
to fulfill different consumer needs, unique product
markets, and specific types of goods.

Features of retail Stores

*Retailer is the last link in the distribution chain.


* In retail trade goods are sold directly to the final
users.
* Retailer buys and sells a small quantity of goods.
* Retailer acts as a middleman between
wholesalers and . . customers.

Effect on Economy

Governments measure retail sales growth


monthly to gauge the economy’s health and
consumer spending habits. This helps indicate how
well businesses are doing and whether consumers
have enough disposable income to purchase goods
and services. Retail sales influence macroeconomic
activity because when consumers increase
spending, this can lead to increased economic
output and foster a favorable business climate.

Importance of store layout

The way that stores arrange products is not


random, nor is the path shoppers travel to find
those products. A retail store layout is the
arrangement of a store’s products and fixtures
based on available space to maximize sales
productivity and customer experience. A store
layout is a map of the interior of the store that
displays the various sections, shelves, or fixtures,
and the ideal route for customer flow, all about the
space availablity.

shape retail industry

and strategy

challenges in retail industry

Retail . marketing focuses on. a
retailer’s services or products to reach
and attract potential customers.

market, powerful retail advertising helps a
business enterprise stay away from the
competition.

3. Sales and Revenue Generation: Marketing


without any delay influences income by selling
merchandise influencing purchasing choices
and using customer site visitors.
4. Brand Building: Retail advertising plays an
important role in creating and strengthening
the image of a symbol.
