Meron akong kaibigan

Pagharap ko sa mundo

Pagsagot sa tanong

Ilan? Ano? Alin? Paano?

Math ang katulong sa ating pagsulong

Paglikha, pagunawa ng hiwaga

Minsan ang Math mahirap at seryoso

Nakakatakot, nakakalito

Buti nalang may kasama pa tayo

Sipag, tiyaga, isip at talino

Magtanong, magisip huwag matakot magkamali

Magtanong, magisip ang mahirap ay dadali

Magtanong, magisip ang matiyaga ay matututo

Magtanong, magisip hey sabay sabay tayo

Kaya mo, kaya ko matutunan ang Math

Kaya ko, kaya mo magusap, magsikap

Isip + tiyaga=MathDali

A. Developmental Activities

1. Review:
Multiplication
What do we mean by repeated addition?

What do we call this sign “X”? Times

Let’s practice!

Multiplication by 3

How many sets of pink soldiers do you see? _____ 3

How many pink soldiers are there in each set? _

5
We write the multiplication sentence as 3X5=?
8

2. Motivation:

SHARING CANDIES FAIRLY

What I have here is a pack of candies. Each of you

will be given some candies and what you are going
to do is to share the candies to your classmates
equally and fairly.

We distribute the candies

What did you do after I gave you the candies?

Ok kinder, very good!

We distribute the candies, and when we distribute
a group of things into equal parts it means we are
dividing.

3. Activity:

Look at the picture. Pat will share the 6 pencils

equally with her two friends. Can you help
her?

How many pencils are there? 6

How many pencil cases do you see? 2

How many pencils are there in each pencil cases? 3

So, 6 pencils divided equally among 2 children is

3.
Each friend will get 3 pencils.
We can write the division sentence as: 6 ÷ 2 = 3
Division is when we distribute a group of things
into equal parts.
The symbol used for division is “÷”.
4. Analysis
Now that you already know what division is let us
try some more examples:
1. There are 8 balls and 2 boxes. How many
do you put 8 balls into 2 boxes equally?

How many balls are there? ________ 8

How many boxes do you see? ________ 2

How many balls will there be in each box? _____ 4

So, 8 divided by 2 is 4. We write it as: 8 ÷ 2 = 4

Therefore, there are 4 balls in each box.

2. There are 10 cookies and 2 plates. How do

you put 10 cookies into 2 plates so that
each plate will have the same number of
cookies?

How many cookies are there? ________ 10

How many plates do you see? ________ 2

How many cookies will there be on each plate? __ 5

So, 10 divided by 2 is 5. We write it as: 10 ÷ 2 = 5

Therefore, there are 5 cookies on each plate.

5. Abstraction/ Generalization
Again Kinder, what do we do when we distribute
a group of things into equal parts? Dividing

Where do we use this symbol “÷”? Division

Your parents bought a lot of toys for you and your

siblings. They said that you are in charge of I’m going to give them equally and fairly
distributing the toys to your siblings, what are you
going to do?

6. Application

Mingle Game
The song will play while the students are formed
in circle. Once the music stops a number is called
out at random.
Players must quickly group themselves into the
correct numbers or else they will be eliminated but
the players who get eliminated will become the
guards and will also guess the division problem.
