Grade 7 - Section Last
ABC High School

Mr. Roberto Santiago

Principal
ABC High School

Dear Principal Santiago,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to bring to your attention

some concerns regarding the school comfort rooms. Many
students have observed that the restrooms often lack
cleanliness, running water, soap, and tissue paper, making it
difficult to maintain proper hygiene throughout the day.
Additionally, some comfort rooms have broken locks and
faucets that need repair.

If possible, could the school implement a regular cleaning

schedule and ensure that hygiene supplies are always
available? Repairing broken facilities would also help in
providing a safer and more comfortable restroom experience for
students. I understand that maintaining school facilities is a big
responsibility, and I truly appreciate all the efforts made to keep
our school clean and safe.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. I would

be grateful for any improvements that can be made, and I
appreciate your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Juan Dela Cruz
ANSWERS

✔ Use Polite Greetings and Closings → "Dear Principal

Santiago," & "Sincerely, Juan Dela Cruz"
✔ Express Gratitude → "Thank you for taking the time to
consider my request."
✔ Be Clear and Direct → "I am writing to bring to your
attention some concerns regarding the school comfort
rooms."
✔ Use Modals and Polite Phrases → "Could the school
implement a regular cleaning schedule?" & "I would be
grateful..."
✔ Avoid Demands or Commands → Instead of "Fix the
broken facilities," the letter politely asks, "Repairing broken
facilities would also help..."

make a request sound more polite? Can you give an
example of a request using one of these words?
▪ Which of these two sentences sounds more polite: “Give
me the report by Friday.” or “Would you be able to send me
the report by Friday, please?” Why?

concepts and skills in daily living The teacher will ask a student a number then the teacher will count
the students and if the student is in that number of seat, he/she will
answer the question.

politely asked for more time to finish your
homework? Could using kind words help you get a
better response?
