Bauer Media is a family owned media company that
provides content and services to a large number of
people.This means that it is a mass media company,
which means they provide media based content and
services to an extremely large audience.
It was founded in 1875 and in 2015 they had 11,500
employees.The CEO is a woman named Yvonne
Bauer and she has been CEO since November 2010. As of August 2024 she has an
estimated net worth of $2.3 billion.They have headquarters in Hamburg, Germany
but are a multinational company that operates in more than one country spreading
their brands to increase brand image.
Bauer Media owns more than 600 different magazine brands, over 400 digital
products and 50 radio and TV stations. In 2023, Bauer UK achieved a total revenue
of £761.3 million. Bauer Media is also a cross media company as they use many
different forms of media to publish their products such as: magazines, websites and
radio, which helps them to gain interest in the company.

Immediate Media owns the
BBC Top Gear and Bauer
Media own a similar magazine
called Car. Top Gear is a
magazine that talks about the
newest and most classical
cars and in depth information
about them which is
interesting to the viewers.
Bauer media’s Car magazine
does the exact same thing
talking about new cars,
classical cars, the fastest, the
most expensive which is why these two magazines are such competitors.
Although the magazines are competing with each other, so are the companies. They
both own and publish relatively similar things head to head with each other both
trying to gain more of an audience.
Immediate Media also own
brands like Gardener’s World and
Bauer Media own a brand called
Garden Answers, which both talk
about tips for gardening, how to
organise it well and the best
products to purchase. Both of
these magazines are competing
with each other and they have the
same target audience.The
companies that own these
magazines are also competitors
too.
