FORMAT OF PROJECT REPORT

1. Font size – 12, font- Times New Roman, (Throughout the text) alignment: justify

2. Margins: The margin on left side: 1.5 inch

Margin on other sides: 1 inch (top, Bottom and right side)

3. Line spacing: Use double-spacing for the entire paper (including block quotations

and the reference list). Do not add blank lines before or after headings. Do not add

extra spacing between paragraphs.

4. Paragraph alignment and indentation: Align paragraphs of text to the left margin.

Leave the right margin ragged. Do not use full justification. Indent the first line of

every paragraph of text 0.5 in. using the tab key.

5. Page numbers: Page no’s should start from chapter 1. Page No. is kept blank for title

pages. (should count that pages also).

All preliminary pages (all pages prior to the first page of Chapter 1) should be

numbered with lower case Roman numerals. No page no. for title page. From 2nd page

onwards give the roman no. (ii). From Chapter 1(page no. 1) to the last page

(Appendix and Reference) of the report, put continuous page numbers (Eg: 1, 2, 3,

…., 60)

6. Page numbers, are placed at the upper-right corner of the page.

7. Format of Tables: The label and title of a table appear above the table. Titles should

be capitalized, except for minor words (e.g., of, to, for, or, and), with no punctuation

at the end. Titles should be written in italicized typeface. Both the label and the title

should be left-justified. Number the tables continuously from chapter 1 onwards

(Example Table 1, Table 2…..)


1. Format of Figure / graphs Figure number in bold above the figure. Brief title, in

italics and title case, under the figure number. Number the Figures continuously

from chapter 1 onwards (Example Figure 1, Figure 2…..)

3. Each appendix should be mentioned at least once in the text by its label (e.g., "see

Appendix A"). Place the appendix label and title in bold and centered on separate

lines at the top of the page on which the appendix begins.

4. Label the Reference list "References." Center this heading and use a bold font. Put

your list in alphabetical order.


5. Numbering of appendix pages: Continuous numbering after the 5th chapter.

6. References at the end of the project with continuous numbering.
