1.Give details of the applicant's current circumstances, including ties to family, community,
employment and economic circumstances.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Distinction and currently employed as an Assistant
Civil Engineer at Civilsoft Engineering Consultancy. To advance my career and expertise, I intend to pursue
a Master of Professional Engineering (Civil) at Curtin University, Perth, Australia.

My wife, Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Karki, will accompany me to provide essential support during my studies. As
the youngest in my family, I have always received immense love and encouragement from my parents, who,
along with my in-laws, will support me emotionally and financially. We have secured an education loan of
NPR 75 lakhs, backed by a total net annual income of NPR 37.39 lakhs and assets worth NPR 3.26 crores.
After completing my degree, I plan to return to Nepal to care for my aging parents, safeguard family assets,
and uphold cultural traditions, while contributing to the engineering sector as a skilled professional.

2.Explain why the applicant wishes to study this course in Australia with this particular education
provider including their understanding of the requirements of the intended course and studying and
living in Australia.

Australia stands out as a study destination due to its globally recognized education system, focus on
practical learning, and multicultural environment in a balanced cost of living ($29,710 annually). Curtin
University, ranked among 174th as per QSWUR, offers a dynamic campus, industry-focused education that
foster professional growth. I have chosen the 2-year Master of Professional Engineering (Civil) program
with an annual tuition fee of $44,569. A 25% scholarship makes it more affordable compared to universities
like Monash and Adelaide.

This program provides advanced skills to solve real-world engineering challenges and includes 12 weeks of
professional practice. Specializing in civil engineering, particularly Hydraulic and Design, aligns with
industry demands and broadens career prospects in structural analysis, water-retaining structures, tunnels,
and bridges. I have explored accommodation near Curtin University via Flatmates; weekly rent $160-220.

3.Explain how completing the course will be of benefit to the applicant.

My goal is to advance my career as a professional engineer by developing advanced technical skills,

sustainability frameworks, and ethical approaches to global challenges. The Master of Professional
Engineering (Civil) program will equip me with technical & theoretical expertise, industry insights, and a
global perspective, enabling me to apply engineering principles effectively. I aim to contribute to Nepal’s
construction, renewable energy, & hydropower sectors by working with projects like Kali Gandaki
Hydropower and Kalika Construction, where professionals earn an average annual salary of NPR 11.33
lakhs (Source: worldsalaries.com). Upcoming national pride projects, such as the Sikta Irrigation Project &
West Seti Hydropower, highlight Nepal’s employment growth. This course will prepare me for in-demand
roles like Civil Engineer, Construction Manager, and Engineering Manager, and ultimately, help me
establish a consulting business in Nepal, contributing to the nation’s development.

4.Give details of any other relevant information the applicant would like to include.
After earning my bachelor's degree and gaining valuable experience in civil engineering, I realized the need
for additional hands-on experience to complement my theoretical knowledge. By completing this
postgraduate degree, I aim to enhance my skills and practice civil engineering at a professional level. Once I
graduate, I plan to return to Nepal to explore opportunities in its growing economy, which offers ample
prospects for qualified civil engineers like myself. Pursuing further studies at Curtin University is a logical
step in my professional development, as it will equip me to contribute to both national and international civil
engineering projects, amplifying my professional impact. Additionally, my spouse and I have no prior
immigration history, and this is our first application for the Student Visa Subclass 500 to Australia. This
pathway reflects my commitment to advancing my career while contributing meaningfully to Nepal's
infrastructure development.
