➢ S – Substitute
• Replaces manual fan speed adjustment with an automated system that adjusts according to room
temperature.
• Replaces traditional fan control mechanisms with an Arduino-based smart system.
➢ C – Combine
• Combines a temperature sensor (DHT11) with Arduino for automatic fan control.
• Includes an LCD display to display real-time temperature and fan speed.
• Utilizes PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to continuously manage fan speed according to temperature
variations.
➢ A – Adapt
• Transposes the idea of automated temperature control employed in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and
Air Conditioning) systems to a domestic fan.
• Deploys microcontroller-based automation on a common household appliance for energy efficiency.
• Embraces eco-friendly technology to assist in the reduction of carbon emissions through regulation
of unnecessary energy consumption.
➢ M – Modify
• Upgrades a basic fan to make it responsive to temperature changes.
• Adds real-time temperature sensing and automatic adjustments.
• Minimizes power wastage as the fan is made to operate only as quickly as required.
➢ P – Put to Another Use
• Is applicable in residences, offices, hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities where intelligent
cooling is required.
• Possible usage in smart homes and IoT-based energy efficient systems.
➢ E – Eliminate
• Reduces the manually required adjustment of the fan speed.
• Eliminates excessive energy usage by controlling speed automatically rather than operating based on
a constant high speed.
➢ R – Reverse (or rearrange)
• Reverses the conventional method where users physically operate the fan—now, the fan operates
automatically based on live temperature.
• Reconfigures the functionality of the fan, converting it into an active instead of a passive process.
