The document discusses various plant responses to stimuli, including phototropism, hydrotropism, geotropism, and thigmotropism, which are essential for their survival. It also briefly touches on the concepts of stereoscopic and monocular vision, as well as stereophonic hearing. Additionally, it outlines the human respiratory system's inhalation and exhalation processes.

Plants need to be responsive towards stimuli such as light, gravity and water so that they can

respond appropriately to ensure their sustainability and survival

Phototropism

Phototropism is a response of plant towards light. Shoots of plant show positive phototropism which
is growth towards the direction of the light.

Hydrotropism

Hydrotropism is the response of the plant towards water. Roots of plant show positive hydrotoropism
towards the direction of the water

Geotropism

Geotropism is the response of plants towards gravity. Roots of plants show positive geotropism
which is downward growth towards the direction of gravity.

Thigmotropism

Thigmotropism is response towards touch. Plants show positive thigmotropism when they cling onto
whatever objects or other plant they come into contact with

Stereoscopic vision

-Have a pair of eyes located in front of their head

-Have large overlap

Monocular vision

-Have a pair of eyes located on opposite sides of their head

Stereophonic Hearing

Stereophonic hearing is hearing using both ears. Stereophonic hearing allows us to determine the
direction of the so
HUMAN RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Nostrils> Nasal Cavity>Pharynx>Larynx>Trachea>Bronchus>Bronchiole>Alveolus

Inhalation
Intercostal muscles contract and pull the rib cage upwards and outwards
Diaphragm muscles contract and pull the diaphragm to descend and become flat
Movements of the rib cage and the diaphragm make the thoracic cavity bigger and cause air
pressure in the thoracic cavity to decrease
The higher air pressure outside forces air to enter the lungs

Exhalation
Intercostal muscles relax and the rib cage moves downwards and inwards
Diaphragm muscles relax and curve upwards
Movement of intercostal muscles and diaphragm make the thoracic cavity smaller and cause
the air pressure in the thoracic cavity to increase
The higher air pressure in the lungs pushes the air out
